I tried Endless Mode in PokéRogue, but it felt too aimless. It's nice for catching more Pokémon, but you can't find a Map item, which allows you to choose which biome to go to, so it's harder to get specific Pokémon.

So instead I tried out a mono-type challenge run, where you can only use Pokémon that have a specific type. I decided to go for a Dragon-only run because Reshiram has PokéRus today, giving him 50% extra EXP.

The biggest problem is that Reshiram is a legendary and therefore costs so many points to put in your starting team that I couldn't bring anyone else, while Dragon Pokémon are also rare to encounter in the wild. I made it to encounter 145 with 4 dragon Pokémon and a Charizard, which becomes a dragon if you can mega-evolve it.

At encounter 145 you have to fight your rival who always has a Mega Rayquaza at that point, which is fast, hits hard and has 4 health bars, plus 5 more Pokémon. I made a valiant effort, but two of my Pokémon were too slow and got one-shot.

I have since found out that there's a specific biome for dragon types, so I'll have to try to get there next run.

Great video for people like me pretending to make games. It really hit home when he said his game would be better if he just hired people to do everything instead of doing it himself :ROFLMAO:

I do wonder, however, how many people would have played his NextFest game if he weren't a big YouTuber, although I'm guessing most of those people probably played the Itch.io version.

Hmm, usually when a tutorial dumps you out into the real world, you are sitting pretty and ready to mess things up on your own. But when the Casino Tower tutorial dumped me, my casino was full of garbage, my CEO was wandering around looking for garbage bags that hadn't been delivered, and my only other employee had gone home for the day, so I didn't have a cashier and no one could play the slot machines.

I wasn't really prepared for the amount of detail, but I'm having a lot of fun with it.

Does anyone want a copy of Guantlet: Slayer Edition?

Steam has changed how they handle gifts. Used to be, if you sent a gift and the person didn't redeem it, the game just returned to your inventory. Thus I ended up with an extra copy of Guantlet when, years ago, I sent a copy to my wife and she never accepted it. If you want it, send me via DM the email you use for Steam or friend me on Steam (ZedClampet) and let me know it's you.

Nowadays, if you send a gift and the person doesn't accept it, you just get refunded in 30 days, but I don't think Steam will give me refunds for these. Way too old.

Warning: the game is made as though they want you to put another quarter in every 30 seconds. It's too difficult for me to play alone.

Looks like Pyranha Bytes finally got the Embrace(r) of Death.

Disappointing. Gothic was a formative series for me. Loved Risen 1, 2 was blah, but 3 and the Elex series have been on my radar for awhile, but I haven't gotten around to them.

Looks like former devs are forming a new studio though, so maybe the dream will live on.

I thought they had all this straightened out when they spun off the Satisfactory team into their own company and gave them a bunch of smaller studios. Sad.

Still playing dark souls 3. i 've navigated past the swamps (well most of it anyway) and continue to explore. i hear a lot of clashing and ringing sounds and i believe thats a boss encounter. So obviously i didn't go in there. i had a quick rethink and decided to kill the crystal mage just to tick something off before i'm forced to go back over there.

Turns out there is more to see and do. So we've reached the cathedral to the other lord of cinder. whilst i got past the ghoul grave yard and made it to the roof, i kinda bottled it and ran back to the fire earlier on. So more exploring before i face one of the lords of cinder.

Weapon wise, i;m still trying to find a lotheric sword. I've killed so many of the knights near the start that i've got everything but the sword. Multiple complete armor sets and no weapon. Hell, i might have gotten the spear which is no interest to me.

No real point to this post, I just want to sing the praises of the eGPU again.

My friend gifted me Manor Lords for my birthday, so I installed it on my laptop yesterday. After firing it up, I didn't realize my eGPU wasn't enabled and after adjusting settings, the game was running in the teens (damn twits) for FPS at 800p. Looking at the recommended specs for the game, I figured my laptop should be able to handle this with the eGPU, so I checked and yeah, it wasn't enabled.

Now, running the game on High at 2160x1350, I'm getting between 45-60FPS depending on what's going on. And watching my utilization, I'm at 95-98% GPU usage and 60%ish CPU, so it looks like the low end stuff (i7-1160G7 + 5500XT) are very well paired.

I'm just very well pleased that I can use the laptop I want and be able to play the games I want. I very much dislike gaming laptops), for being so bulky, unsightly and not having the features I want, so to be able to "upgrade" in essence, my favorite style is just great. eGPUs were a wondeful invention.

PokéRogue has been crashing fairly frequently for some reason. Maybe the server is overloaded or something, but every 10-20 minutes or so the game just refuses to continue to the next encounter. Sometimes waiting a bit helps, but most of the time it's faster to reload the page.

It's annoying, but not so bad that it's unplayable, the game loads pretty quickly. However, it just saved me my run, as the game stopped responding right after I lost a fight and when I reloaded it my save was still there from right before the fight.

Redoing the fight went almost exactly the same way as the first time, except this time the AI made an error right at the end and swapped in their Mewtwo (who outsped me and one-hit KO'd 3 of my Pokémon already) right into an attack that finished it off.

Woohoo! More credits. Completed Evil West in 9.5 hours. Time to Beat mainline is 10, so we were right there. It says completionist is 23 hours, but there isn't anything but the main story. That must be people getting lost on what to do quite a bit. We opened every chest, etc.

I'm literally exhausted now. Those final two boss fights lasted probably an hour at least.

Now I've gone and done it. Saw a Youtuber I watch with a Heroes of Might & Magic t-shirt today, so I went and found some for myself. Went ahead and ordered two for about $13. Will I wear them? I have no idea. They're not really my style, as I generally just wear blank black t-shirts and these are a bit...loud, perhaps, but they looked so fun to me.

Hopefully my wife won't be jealous...

I bought that exact shirt as a birthday present for one of my friends one year.

It wasn't a great quality shirt, but the print looked really good.

Another entry into the long discussion about Steam selling games that just aren't viable...

Developers are fired, yet the game is still being sold on Steam under Early Access. Though I would hope that the recent review rating of just 7% positive would scare off most buyers, some might be buying right off of their wish list.

Has Kerbal 2 been canceled? Sad

But Steam is just a marketplace like Amazon. Most of the responsibility is on the seller and the buyer (Kerbal 2 at 7 percent positive proves this is working on the buyer side). Anyway, Kerbal 2 has sold well. I'd be surprised if it were never finished

Edit: Take Two says the game isn't canceled

For $6 a piece, I fully expect them to be garbage, but it was cheap enough that I was willing to take the risk. AliExpress is great for cheap stuff if you're willing to wait.

I'm torn on Manor Lords. I played a good amount of it today (like another 45 minutes to an hour, so a good amount for me) and I'm really enjoying it, but I'm worried I'm going to play the hell out of it only to get bored with it and never come back when it's finally a complete game.

Kind of debating if I should just play Banished or Surviving Mars instead, both I enjoyed, but didn't play a ton of.

I won the PokéRogue Dragon-only challenge. I suppose I technically cheated, but I don't really care.

Reshiram was an absolute beast at the end, with 3 Dragon Claw items increasing the strength of its dragon attacks by 60%, among a bunch of other buffs. He single-handedly defeated every member of the Elite Four and the Champion, defeating every single Pokémon in a single hit.

Eternatus was a bit trickier. I had planned on poisoning him, but forgot he's a poison type himself and thus immune to the poison status condition. Luckily just blasting him over and over worked just fine and only 3 out of 6 of my Pokémon fainted before I won.

The new has said they laid off the entire dev team though, so perhaps its a technicality.

I figure they are just moving it to another developer. They couldn't have been happy with this one, after all, even though the sales were good.

No idea on the provenance of the game, but laying off an entire team working on it and saying its still in development doesnt seem like a great idea.

Hope it works out for the game anyway.

No idea. It could really be canceled. Seems odd they would let the players just speculate if they had firm plans to continue development with another team, and it's been a couple of months...

If I ever post how many games I have on Steam, I'm prolly bully lying:

Yeah, I login daily… kinda funny to be logged into account to access info like last time online :D

Nice deal on GOG for next 7 hours:

Animation Arts Collection

6 Point & Click adventures for $6.
I've played at least 4 of them, and they're good—so if you want to try out P&C, this is your chance.
