I still don't quite like how Ciri is looking from the vid @Colif shared. I think she stills looks a bit to much like a model in the face -to pretty and the eye shadows thingy. I'm probably just getting stuck on something that really does not matter at all since you can change face and color outside of the cinematic (or maybe even in it like you could in Diablo 4).

Besides that though, the whole world looks so amazing! Extra plus for good horse:)

Turns out I have had Star Citizen since 2017, which was the year that the early access was released. I guess I didn't get it through Kickstarter, must have been straight from their website.

I have played maybe a total of 3 hours. I'm currently redownloading it to check out the worlds most expensive game again and see what updated in the past few years... the last time I played it was 2019. I see version 4.0 came out 6 months ago, only after being delayed for 3 years. I have no idea why I own this game. I guess I expected development to be done by now.

humble choice is up and besides boltgun, nothing else tickles my fancy. another miss for me!

Steam wise i've been looking at some games selaco and fallen aces deal for £20 looks mighty tempting. Except you can get fallen aces for less then a tenner. selaco is at its cheapest at 14 which is nice. But not deep enough.

i have been looking into armoured core 6 but something about it rubs me the wrong way. i think its the lack of narrative and it would just make it seem like a set of simulations or random awesome battles, which whilst fun don't do much for me. it just feels like a load of sub games.

Asscreed valhalla we're at 195 hrs and pretty much all the areas in the dawn of ragnarok content is done. Except for one area where i need to fish for more bloody pollock to complete and one i can't seem to complete because i can't find the bloody key. Walkthough check time i think.

Sker Ritual is actually pretty fun. Its a round-based zombie game (like COD zombies) that has a good dark n evil look imo so thats 1 major one thats getting me for this month and i see they did another month of IGN. I already have boltgun but.

I've been playing Sekiro since December 2024. Im on my second run having finished the game about a month ago. It took so long as I have time for occasional play. Anyone else here who loves this game? If so, what you like the best about it?

Well, im not a fan of souls-like games but Dark Souls and Sekiro were the only 2 souls games i actually beat all the way through. What carried me for Sekiro was its aesthetic. Dark souls but youre a ninja? sure and the enemies were cooler looking lol.

I got through most if it and had fun until I got stuck on the least mission and fell off. There is a story for sure, and its not quite as unclear as other Fromsoft games, its just that each level is self contained and in between you get to upgrade the mech and load it out for the next mission. I understand its one of those where new game plus reveals more of the story and gives you more options, but obviously never got that far.

It feels like a bit of a throwback somehow, but the levels arent all corridors and there is some stuff to find off the path.

Sekiro is great! Its the parry for me that makes it, when you get in the zone with it and learn the sequences of attack and defend perfectly it just flows so well.

Played some Balatro since it's on Game Pass. It's a nice way to waste a few minutes while you are waiting for something else to happen.
-Get on plane
-Balatro
-Time travel to destination.

so my PC has been playing recently it seems like the Bios is an issue atm. Not sure how it happened but more worryingly, despite buying another battery the issue is still occurring. i might check again that the battary is in properly and reflash to the latest bios. i've added a note just to see if its there the next time it happens.
It's posts like these that make me wish we had a sad face emote. I have no knowledge in mobo/BIOS related issues so I'm of no use, but I hope you can get it fixed though.

Thought I'd share this Steam-kurator as it contains a lot of different adventure games genres. I have not gone through them all, but it seems to be quite the extensive list. I already found Still Life which I had not played before, so I am installing that one on my laptop.

Well i flashed the bios to the latest version and the problem still persists. Its still asking for bios recovery/set up. Interestingly the note message i added is still there (after i turned off the power), but the time is set to 00:00 2018. If i reboot the machine it retains the settings, so back to battery being the issue.

As an experiment i'm going to boot the pc with no cmos (2023r) battery and reset it completely and then put the battery back in and see what happens. I might try the bios recovery thing again but so far that hasn't worked.

Theres no indication of any errors with other hardware (all mem is there). it feels like there is an issue with POST. Rather then whirling to life, there is a delay before firing up and asking me to set up the bios again.

This is random, but I've had it solve issues before. Kind of wonder if it's some issue with capacitors, in which case: power down the machine, flip off the power supply and unplug it. Now give the power button ten full presses, plug everything back in and see what happens.

i know that does fix issues with laptops not turning on (enough residual charge to turn on the laptop but not enough to POST) but couldn't hurt to try it whilst i'm tinkering with my machine. Who knows? the last time my machine didn't boot up saying it was a graphics card issue etc i found out it was a bios issue after i yanked out the cmos battery to wipe the bios profile and plugged in a new CMOS battery and its been fine until now.

Will probably do the same and see what happens. Why we're still using bloody batteries for Bios i have no idea.

There is good... and then there is too good

Being the World Champion French and Spanish Scrabble player without speaking either language is too good

I don't play scrabble, but I think it would be a good strategy against normal players just to memorize all the 2, 3 and 4 letter words and just use those. You would quickly create a terrible board, which would give you a further advantage.

I've been playing The Planet Crafter as it has a new free update which allows you to terraform two new moons and also travel from the original planet to humble (or vice versa).

Also there is a new league of Path of Exile 1 is starting next week! The first in ~11 months!

The CMOS battery is not there to provide power to the computer when it is in operation, it's there to maintain a small amount of power to the CMOS when the computer is powered off and unplugged. The primary function of this is to keep the clock running even when the computer is turned off. Without the CMOS battery, every time you turned on the computer you would need to reset the clock.

On older systems the CMOS battery also provided the small amount of charge required to maintain the nonvolatile BIOS memory, which remembered BIOS settings between reboots. On modern systems this information is typically stored in flash memory and does not require a charge to be maintained.
I wondered that myself

@neogunhero I actually bought I am Future when it first launched and then refunded it about an hour later. Couldn't stand it.
Yeah, I really didn't find it enjoyable or gripping. I gave it just under two hours before refunding. I really liked how the game looked, I think the graphics and art style are very pleasant, but after unscrewing the same kettle for the third time in a row, I decided it wasn't for me. Still have yet to pick up Dysmantle, I think the sale is over now though.

I was able to boot up Star Citizen for a total of 30 minutes before having to go do something else. However, in that 30 minutes after I made my character, the game ran extremely poorly, even with DLSS Performance turned on and graphics lowered. In addition to sub-30 frame rates, it stuttered and glitched a ton. I liked exploring whatever space station I spawned at, but beyond that I don't think I'm interested enough to delve deeper.

I've been looking on Steam for a new game, but Deathloop became free on Epic Game Store today, and that game is pretty great. I played it a few hours on Game Pass but think I'll dive deeper into it now. The basic premise is that it is Groundhog's Day but a first person shooter with some more sinister undertones to it. The level(s) are highly detailed, full of secret paths and stealthy shortcuts, the weapons and combat are unique and feel great, voice acting is very high quality, it really is a well made game that was unfortunately overlooked and underrated.

Well final update to the bios battery mystery and... yeah i forgot to take off the warning sticker on the back of the battery. the one with the choking hazard warning on it. Which is kind of embarrassing considering i had been holding and flipping the battery over several times and not noticing the sticker! its akin to forgetting to peel off the clear film from the processor or fan before adding to the motherboard. Perhaps my thumb/fingers covered it and didn't notice it.

but whatever, its fixed and panic over.

Gaming wise, I've finally finished the Valhalla Dawn of ragnarok DLC. So back to england and finish off some more content. so far 195 hrs clocked in. I don't think we'll finish by the 200hr mark. probably not going to be ready for path of exile anyway.

Speaking of path of exile, just watched the twitch stream and oodles of new content and QOL improvements. The crux of the problem is that the juicy new content is all high tier end game content with new pinnacle bosses etc. Which i never reach normally (sure i may have fought 2 of the bosses, but stuff like sirius i never reach). Part of the problem is perhaps its too much grinding and luck to succeed. Will really depend whats on offer for rewards and whether i can be bothered to get them. The good news is that i have cosmetics for pretty much every slot barring maybe borders and the odd ring.

For those of you trying out Dune Awakening and would not mind some free stuff:
You have to watch twitch, but you can just put a video on low resolution, mute it and forget about it until you get the free stuff.
