Love me some COOP games! Borderlands 4 is the biggest one for me listed up there as it will be the next big coop game i play with wife since we completed the other 3. As far as price, i dont really want to pay the 70 and im also not spending 130usd just to have a bunch of skins but this will probably be my next purchase gaming wise.

In other gaming 'news', ive been eaten pretty good for the last week. Got a chance to play Gears of War: Reloaded, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Incision and Lost Soul Aside. Haven't really played much of them, but its been nice to dabble a little bit in each.

Im pretty upset that Gears of War: Reloaded doesnt have split-screen coop like their console versions do. This is keeping me from buying the game outright. I really want to jump into its pvp because i used to be really good 'back in the day' but im not paying 45 usd to just get that experience. The game looks really good and seems to run smoothly otherwise but ive played that campaign more than once lol.

I also have been playing a little bit of Destiny Rising the mobile gatcha-version of Destiny (albeit a really generous one) that wasnt made by bungie. Im using the developers android-emulator on the PC to play and it runs pretty well and looks good for a mobile game, of course i get extra bonuses using a PC to play it (ultrawide screen/120fps high-res textures, dlss etc.). The gunplay also feels very destiny. I wont be playing it hardcore but they have a 14-day log in event where we can net a bunch of rewards so..its something.

Ill be dabbling in all these games probably until Borderlands 4 hits. Theres others listed up there (Hell is Us) that im interested in trying so well see.

Gave Hollow Knight a try. I already had it, probably from Humble, so even though I really knew that I wasn't going to like it, it didn't hurt to install it and give it a go. The keybinds didn't make any sense to me. I'm not using the arrow keys to move, and I'm not using "x" to jump, and I'm not using "C" to attack, etc. So I set them like they are in every other game and off I went. I did what I assume was the first boss, but just wasn't feeling it. I actually played better than I expected, but it was the beginning of the game, so it was almost certainly the easiest part.

What is hilarious is that Asmongold probably earned more money farming content on this whale than this whale was bragging that he spent on the game. It's his money, but this is probably one of the top 10 dumbest ways to spend it. Even eating a week's worth of Salt Baes' 24-carat gold flaked stakes would have given you more money's worth. At least you would be eating something real and then flushing it out later on, watching as the money wiggles its way down the pipe.

In some circles the people on max resonance are looked up to... I assume. Some people really don't have anything better to spend money on. These are the people this game was made to farm.

Everyone else is best staying away unless they fall into a hole they can't afford to be in or get out of.

You couldn't pay me to play it as they hollowed out what makes Diablo fun just to extract as much value out of the players. The game is playing you.

I will stick to the old games. Lucky its only Warcraft that Blizzard ruined with a remake.

I think sending over 500k to a streamer just to call them "bro" is a more ridiculous situation than whales.

I think the most money i spent on 1 game would have been Destiny 2 at over 1000 easily but thats also due to buying 3 of the same expansion about 3 or 4 times in a row. Im sitting at almost 6k hours so i dont think its too bad of a trade off lol.

It does seem a bit excessive :ROFLMAO:. Now I am tempted to get on her stream and get her to say "Bro" for free. I can try to sell that I am a very handsome and strong Norwegian Viking with my own ship and crew. Jokes aside, I hope the family gets the money back. Also, he probably deserves his own "bro" chat emote that he can use on the stream when he gets out of his straightjacket.

My friends and I played some more Barotrauma. We had to destroy an enemy sub, so we stocked up on ammo and made sure every turret was fully stocked and loaded with armour piercing rounds.

When we finally got to the enemy sub, it was being attacked by a large hammerhead and a swarm of smaller aliens and was already sinking. I just positioned our ship above their and my friends unloaded on the aliens and enemy ship, tearing everything apart. I don't think the enemy sub hit us even once.

We sadly did have two deaths when we encountered a swarm of aliens that managed to crawl inside of our ship and killed two bots.

We then had another death when I dropped my friend off at a cave to go mining while I went back to loot an alien we killed. My friend was attacked and tried to get back to the ship, but when I hurried back to him I accidentally rammed him and he got stuck between our docked shuttle and the hull of the ship.

I then proceeded to almost kill that same (respawned) friend and two of our bots when I took them along trying to move our shuttle into the cave and got it stuck, with an alien attacking it and energy supplies slowly dwindling. I had to swim out to kill the alien and jiggle the shuttle to get it free.

After mining the stuff we needed myself, I set the sub to autopilot to the nearby station while I dropped off my loot. However, there was apparently another large alien right by the outpost and while I was doing inventory management we somehow lost another bot.

We still made a profit though, so all in all not a bad session.

I don't know why, but I love it when games have NPCs fighting each other. Adds a lot of life to the map. The very first base we had in V Rising was on a major trade route, and I would go outside and there would be loot dropped all over the place. There are also a few areas in Dune where different factions fight. And, of course, ARK was non-stop dino fighting. If you drew aggro from a dino you couldn't take on, you just distracted them with other dinos. The Spinosaurus, for instance, loves fish, so if you are near water just leap in, and invariably the Spino will lose interest in you and go after the fish.

WOW how is that so much better looking than Skyrim?

@Colif That Waterpark Simulator is hilarious and hectic. People leave puddles all over the place after they get out of the pool, and anyone who steps on one ragdolls in a pretty hilarious way, then you have grown adults taking dumps in the pool...I didn't have anyone drown yet

So much for me believing the people who keep claiming it's Bethesda's engine that's the problem.
AFAIK Fallout London did have some engine level bugs they just couldn’t seem to iron out. Same engine, just different versions of it. I still think programmers these days have a lot more resources on how to deal with those engine level bugs. Speaking of which, I really should give that mod a go.

Still playing Enshrouded but starting to get a bit bored of it. It's a lot of work for a single person to do. Perhaps it's a bit on me too with how I'm approaching the game, I started to focus on getting a lot of the NPC crafters at my base, which all come with a long laundry list of needs and missions of their own. So now I have 5 NPC crafters all barking at me that they need help with something, when all I want to do is build and explore. I could just put that off for now, but I know I'm missing out on a lot of stuff by not doing their quests, it's a bit of a headache. I'm glad that I have a lot of stuff to do, but it's too much stuff and becoming slightly overwhelming. Maybe I should check out sandbox mode.

I wanted something more straight forward, with a clear goal and clear gameplay, so I picked up Arco on Steam. It's an action strategy game where you get into turn based combat scenarios where the enemies move only when you do. It's a bit like a top-down SUPERHOT where you plan out your moves before executing them.

What I wasn’t expecting was a compelling fantasy story of Mesoamerican cowboys and bandits as well as some light, intriguing exploration elements. Between battles you explore an overworld map filled with smaller areas you can explore filled with people to talk to, secrets to find, items to collect and sometimes hidden combat encounters.

The combat itself is hard, there is definitely a bit of a learning curve to it. Once you start unlocking new abilities and become more confident in your moves, it's a lot of fun clearing out a screen full of enemies. The enemy types have some nice variety to them as well, though I'm only 2 hours into it. There is a cool guilt mechanic, where hard decisions you make on the road can weigh heavy on your conscious, resulting in ghosts appearing in the combat encounters that do not stop when you do. They constantly move towards you, causing you to have to act quickly.

It's a great change of pace from the types of games I normally play. I tried Rage 2 for maybe the third time, and just can't pull myself together to play it. I keep thinking that I would enjoy a fairly mindless FPS romp with a checklist of objectives to cross off, thinking it will be something fun after a hard day, but I just can't do it. I need something more engaging and Arco is just that.

Started playing The Last Express and so far, I'm mostly lost. I have some idea of what's going on, but I mostly feel like I'm wandering the train and waiting for things to happen to me.

I may need to consult a strategy guide.

Also playing more Wargroove 2 to see what my friend sees in it. Still not loving it, but I am at least enjoying it a bit more. But I do still feel like I'd rather be playing Advance Wars.

You guys ever think nostalgically about a game you played in the past, suddenly want to replay it, get excited as you boot it up, then immediately remember all the bad parts that you don't want to go through again? That's how I felt this weekend with Homefront The Revolution.

It's the sequel to the first Homefront game, this time with a semi-open world, side missions to take you away from the main story, and pretty decent weapon customization for its time. It's very much a B-movie type of game, where it's quite janky and unpolished, but you can tell it was made with love by the developers. I'm not too crazy about it's pro-American propaganda story, but the gameplay was very solid.

Then I remember all the annoying stuff about the game. The long unskippable cutscenes, boring characters, constantly chattering in your ear via the radio which you can't turn off, clunky UI, clunky motorcycle controls, idiotic enemy AI, all of that. I immediately got turned off of the idea of doing a replay of this game.

I really shouldn't let that stuff bother me as much as it does. I should just play the game again until I reach said annoying bugs and at that point make my decision if I want to continue or not. Just because I remember them being bad, perhaps this time around I can tolerate them more. That's just not how my brain works though, I think of all the bad things about a game then don't get excited to play anymore. I'm feeling this way a bit with Enshrouded too, thinking of the 20 quests I have sitting in my log, all the farming I need to do, I'd rather not play than get annoyed by stuff like that.

Dead Rising is a big one for me too when it comes to this. I really love 1 and 2, have beaten them both back in the day on PS3, but I can remember how frustrating both of those games can get especially towards the very end. Throw in lack of auto save and that's a headache just waiting to happen. They are fantastic games, maybe the remaster of DR1 addresses these issues, but they are very frustrating to play to the point where I'd rather not touch them again.

I love it as well. It was honestly a shame how little there was of it in Skyrim, which supposedly was in an active civil war. I'm not sure why they didn't add more of it. I feel it was fairly common in the Fallout games, so it's not like Bethesda didn't know how to do it.

Barotrauma doesn't have a lot of it, simply because there aren't that many factions. Enemy subs only show up if you pick a specific mission type and otherwise most enemies are just various types of alien wildlife who don't attack each other (though they will eat each other's corpses). Though maybe there are some interactions I haven't seen yet.

Usually I don't get so far as to actually install the game, my memory is too good to forget about the bad parts (for now). I do occasionally play a game for nostalgia's sake and then quit after a few hours, but that's mostly because it's hard for me to stay invested when I already know the game.

One of my favourite parts of playing games is experiencing new things, so when replaying something I miss out on that part of the experience and I'm much less likely to stay invested.

Watch Dogs 2 has an amazing feature with this. You can select an NPC and call in either the police to arrest them or a gang member to assassinate them. You do this enough times, alternating between cops and gangsters, and eventually you have an all out brawl in the streets unfolding as you are literally in the center of it. As long as you don't aggro anyone, you can just sit back and watch it all happen. If all goes correctly, more cops and gangsters will continue to come in for a while until the last man standing makes it out. It's so much fun to watch all of this happen, sometimes I'll grab my drone and fly over the action but they can shoot it down eventually.

I loved WD2. I would go into a huge enemy building and call in a tip to the police, implicating someone in a murder. The police would show up and start talking to the guy, who after a time would pull a gun and start shooting. Most of the time, it didn't end until there was just 1 cop left. He would leave, and I'd just walk over to the objective and complete it. Did it make the game too easy? Yes, but causing all that chaos more than made up for it. Someone should make a game where that's all you do.

Ah yes, The last express. We had it on our old p166 and yeah one of the greatest and worst things is that its incredibly open ended. You can pretty much do a wide variety of things or ignoring certain things at certain times and it influences the outcome significantly.

yeah a walkthrough is needed tbh. You can wind and rewind time to quite easily mess around and get the golden ending. My brother and i got quite stumped by the second chapter with the golden egg . We just couldn't get past the second ending of just getting a whole load of gold and getting off early and going off into the sunset.

playingg Path of exile still and i've got the 12 challenges done and i'm working on a few other ones atm. Its all grindy stuff, so i'm in no rush, but i need to focus on my next plan of action. i'll probablt beat the 2 end game bosses to get the void stones and polish off any other maps before working on the new content.

We need a NPC chaos enabling simulator game. I'm not talking about a game like Totally Accurate Battle Simulator which is fun to mess with, but something where you are causing NPCs to react to certain things in order to complete objectives. It could be a mix of that game, WD2 and Hitman. You'd have a lot of freedom on how to complete the objectives, you can be as creative and stealthy or as loud and chaotic as you'd like. Basically an immersive sim with NPCs you can somewhat control and get to do what you want. I'd play the hell out of that game.
