I promise to stop talking about Skate so much since that's all I've been able to talk about recently.

Skate is subject to yet another online wave of negative discourse from people who either have not played the game or have no interest in playing. We've all seen it with so many other games, these kinds of people have nothing but negativity to speak and just want to complain about what they don't like about a game. It's easy to ignore these people, until they start to influence others. There are some legit criticisms of the game, but this wave of bullcrap drowns out all the actual feedback.

It's just sad to see this constantly happening with nearly every game. It's "woke" because the character creator lets you make non-binary people, it's "evil" because there are purely cosmetic only MTX, people complaining they can't get in when there are quite literally 100s of thousands of people trying to access the servers all at once, it's just constant negativity and complaints. It wears me out lol.

Again all this does is drown out legitimate feedback on the game, prevents real conversations from being had, influences people from the outside in, and ruins the spirit of gaming. I'm all about bashing a game that I don't like, but there better be some actual real reasons why. Not playing a free game just because there are MTX is quite insane to me. I can barely name 10 free games that are MTX free, and all of them are not live service games like Skate is.

Have had less time to play games than I expected during this trip. Usually there's a whole lot of sitting around, but I've managed to keep myself busy every day that I haven't much felt like playing anything.

Tried to play some Abiotic Factor, but it was just a little too much, but I did play a bit of RoboCop, finishing the...I think second mission in the junkyard.

Last night in a fit of exhaustion I ended up buying Mass Effect legendary. I've played 1 and 2 way back when and kind of thought maybe I'd like to again, so I played for maybe 45 minutes this morning and I'm not so sure.. Granted I'm still in the very opening, but the writing is very meh and kind of makes me think I should just play my heavily modded KOTOR 2 save instead. At least there's some nuance there.

My friend invited me to play Escape the Backrooms with him and another person. It's basically a sequence of separate "puzzles", which mostly involve running around finding keys/switches while occasionally avoiding a monster to get to the next level. The levels each have their own gimmick, like monsters that are camouflaged as other players, traversing a level without being seen by randomly placed cameras or just a straight hallway where you have to pick one direction and hope you don't encounter a monster. They're mostly not very good gimmicks and you get infinite retries, but that does make it very easy to just jump in and play a couple of levels.

I'm so glad I bought Big Ambitions in early access even though the game has become this ultra complex nightmare that I'm no longer willing to play. But I had a blast for over 600 hours, and don't regret the purchase at all. I would love it if they would put an alternate version in the beta options that was simply the game as it was at launch.

Doesn't sound very creative, although I've always liked it when a co-op horror game sends an imposter of another player.

This is one game I'm okay with having it tell me I need a controller. But what the hell is San Vansterdam? Who came up with that name? I'm going to play for 10 minutes so I can write a scathing review centered around the name. /jk

Agree 100 percent with your post.

The "Flick-it" controls is what makes this game, and I don't see it being possible using m+kb.

The negativity happens with every game these days it seems. But you know, it was mainly only prior to release, and as always only seems to be a small section of players. I'm seeing a lot more positivity around the game now that it's out. There are genuine flaws and real criticism that needs to be addressed, but complaining about things that are only an opinion and not a critique does nothing to make the game better.

San Vansterdam... Vansterdam... Vans...? Like the clothing company? Vans was very prevalent during the playtest, and I got a Vans shirt, a pair of Vans Old Skools, and a few stickers in my inventory already... I smell a conspiracy afoot

The servers were absolutely hammers yesterday, at once point it said I was # 999,999 in queue and that it would take 3 hours to get in. Eventually, a server maintenance message came up, and I wasn't able to fully get on until around 8:30 central last night.

Once I did get on, I had a blast with all the new players. We built some random stuff, stacked ramps up as high as we could, and just goofed around. Great game.

Speaking of angry/stupid players. I get really annoyed when someone writes an idiotic review and then you see that people are marking it as helpful. What is this, a comedy show? An idiot parade? All of you should get back in the tiny car and leave.

Yes, I probably sound angry/stupid now.

Not much into city builders but I'd like to play some. This one looks great to me. I love the voxel art style and the Mediterranean setting, it seems cozy and chill. Going to keep an eye on this one.

Glory to PC gaming. Doing for free what megacorps won't.

Over the years, there has been countless mods like this, an all-encompassing fix mod for GTA IV. This one looks to be among the best, plus since it's new it will be actively supported for a while. A lot of other mods like this haven't gotten updates in a long time. Looks like I've found what I'll play when not playing Skate.

This was one of my 3.14 purchases this month. It's pretty fun. They have a demo.

Right now it has 259 reviews and is 99 percent positive. That's incredibly rare, especially for a city builder.

I'm loving Town to City, but sort of like most other city builder games (not the big ones like Cities Skylines), the buildings have to be so close together, so close to houses, that it's hard to make large districts. You have to put a little food district over here, and then one over there. And that's perfectly fine, I just wish the distances were slightly farther apart.

@neogunhero Finally got Skate to work on my 8BitDo SN30 Pro+ controller, and while I am not a huge fan of the skating genre, I've found the game so far to be interesting enough that I will keep playing. The first thing I did to make the game much more relaxing was to turn off the tutorial voice, because I really wanted to choke her out. Then I just went on free roaming and tried to do some tricks. I'm quite frankly horrible at these games, but with a little assistance and more patience, I can see myself enjoying.

All the NPC's are quite annoying in the game. They all have that "millennial cringe" writing to them that annoys me to no end. Since you never actually see any of the NPCs and they barely give any real advice, muting dialogue audio isn't that bad. Not like you'll ever have a cutscene where they are standing there talking to you, it's all via radio.

I find these kinds of games at their best when you're free roaming and making your own fun. The quick drop objects feature is awesome for making DIY skate spots. While there are lots of missions, your only progression is unlocking cosmetics and fast travel points, so don't feel pressured to grind out the game (no pun intended). No gameplay features are locked behind a progress bar (besides quick drop items if you use those a lot) or real money transactions so you've already got the full game unlocked once you pass the first tutorial island.

Bought my wife Strange Antiquities on the Switch. She absolutely loves that series now. Strange Horticulture was so good we bought it twice, once on Steam and again on Switch. They are such well crafted puzzle games, I'm looking forward to diving into the new one once she's completed it. One thing that sucks about it is that we can't talk to each other about the game as not to spoil it for, well me I guess. So I'll be yapping in her ear about how I did a backside 360 flip to smith grind off a 16 stair hubba while she dusts off mysterious ancient artifacts looking for clues.

Starscourge defeated. Killing him apparently caused lots of stars to fall... for reasons.

All these demigods drop things that let me buy their armor and weapons but, so far, not one has seemed any use at all.

Seriously, I don't recall ever seeing an achievement that involved 100 percent of players. This is from the game Town to City. And it isn't even the very first thing you do. You have to build 3 houses and a road first.
I've never seen that before! Not even in games that give you an achievement just for getting through the opening cutscene!
