That looks interesting. Let me know if you figure it out. Is it one of those games where events happen whether you are there to view them or not? For some reason that stresses me out.

Yes that is how the last express works. Things happen at preset times whether you realize it or not. i would spoil it but from Chapter 3 is especially interesting. Lets just say it becomes under siege 2.

I see that too and honestly i want to skip but i keep forgetting to then i get a notification that i spent the 16usd. I dont really mind it, i have a big backlog of keys i havent used yet but i also dont mind where the money is going for it (charity) but the selection has gone down hill pretty bad (1 selection is IGN+ and you can only use it ONCE if you are a new member, it keeps popping up but its useless to me since i used 1 already.)

The new selection for September has Destiny 2's legacy collection. That alone is worth the humble bundle price but there are other games there that arent too bad, at least to me so i tend to just let it ride every month.

Don't they charge customers at the end of the month? i personally check in the earlier in the month and then if its no good i go immediately into settings and postpone another month.

I tried to start a solo campaign in Barotrauma, but I quickly decided it was too much micromanagement for me. I started with only two bots and each bot can only have three jobs active, but there are way more things that need to be done on a ship, so I had to keep switching between piloting the ship and giving orders. At some point I had to activate a beacon, so I went outside of the ship. When I returned, I was greeted by one of the passengers I had picked up for a mission who had turned into a Husk. Apparently neither of my bots had the job active to attack intruders, so they just left him to roam the ship. I did manage to kill the Husk, but then I got infected myself and we were out of medication, at which point I decided I was done with the game.

It's probably less hectic if you take more bots with you, so you can just assign each one three tasks to take care of without having to switch them around, but then you're still responsible for all of the crafting and trading to make sure all your supplies remain stocked. Plus bots don't really function outside of the sub, so you'll never have backup if you want to loot or mine anything.

The problem is I already talked to the dev about the limit. He and I both know that if I posted instructions that I would be aware that I was going against his wishes. For some reason I can't find a TOS/User Agreement
Do devs/publishers have the ability to revoke your software license for any reason? I would think no, but I'm unsure. My assumption is as long as it doesn't violate the games or Steams TOS then you should be fine to post whatever. They can't just block you from accessing their game... or can they?

I'm pretty sure they can, but I wouldn't bet much on it.

I'm pretty sure they can revoke your license whenever they want. It might not be legal for them to do so, but would it really be worth it to start a legal battle to get your license back?

I played one mission of the Dark Hours demo with a friend of mine. It's very similar to R.E.P.O., in that you have to steal valuable items while a supernatural entity stalks through the environment. But in Dark Hours you just put the items in your backpack, no messing around with physics, and you have to do some adventure style puzzles to progress through each environment.

It was going pretty well until my friend and I got separated and my friend got himself caught and I couldn't find him in time to revive him. A little later I triggered something that made a ton of noise and I failed to find a spot to hide.

Dipped a little bit into Hollow Knight: Silksong. Its a pretty great platformer for a 3-man team. Its difficult and its art style is really nice. I dont really understand why its as popular as it is but good for Team Cherry.

I also dipped a little into Cronos: The New Dawn. Its.. Deadspace but on a planet. Not as terrible as the calysto protocol but it feels very same-y to Deadspace. Even the outfit kinda reminds me of it. Graphics are nice, the atmosphere is great but the enemies are bullet sponges, at least to me and of course ammo is limited. We'll see how far i get in this too before Borderlands 4.

Helldivers 2 dropped what is probably one of the best, if not thee-best, warbond they have released to date. The best part of the warbond is a new AR that not only penetrates medium armor (a lot of ARs dont) but its bullets are also incendiary which, if you play helldivers, is a plus when fighting bugs (especially in caves).

The new update is pretty great in regards to content. Lots of new missions, new enemies, the update was free and now this warbond with great weapons, stratagems (theres a new spear gun that shoots acid and pierces through enemies) and new perks on armor (40% resistances to everything, can throw grenades farther), its making for a fun time in Helldivers right now.

The major downside is, and Arrowhead has admitted to this, is that the game is buggy af right now. Its not terrible to the point where i dont or cant play, but missions will bug out, ill die to unknown things, rockets/grenades disappearing etc. Arrowhead said a patch is incoming which is nice, lets hope it hits soon.

This is probably the most predatory game I have ever played on Steam. I'm not even a gambling addict, but even I feel the need to either go crazy or just buy into the games for real money. Ovbiously I won't, so I'll go crazy. I REALLY don't think games like this should be allowed on Steam, but I don't mind playing this one knowing I'll win millions without ever spending a dime. So devs, you can't have my money🖕🖕🖕🖕

One of my favorite FPS games ever, Insurgency Sandstorm, is on sale for $8.99, its historic lowest.

The main feature that makes it my favorite is the co-op mode. It's 8 players vs NPCs and to me, it's the perfect amount of challenge for an online FPS game. I'm not the best at PVP games these days, but I still enjoy them. The enemy AI in the co-op mode are smart and deadly, and have been meticulously fine-tuned with each update over the years. Though they are good, they are still easier to fight against than other players in PVP, and that's why I love this game so much. I can play through a 30-minute co-op match and feel like I'm Rambo, racking upwards of 100+ kills per match. Still, they can be difficult at times, especially if the team isn't sticking with each other.

The amount of realism in this game is perfect for me as well. It's a great balance between realistic mil-sim games and arcade FPSs. You can kill and be killed in a matter of a bullet or two, explosions are much deadlier than you're used to as well as bullet physics and penetration mechanics being present. However, you're not going to have to follow a chain of command, not needing to plan strikes on a map, no multiple-step reloads, it's not that realistic compared to other games like Squad.

I love this game and this has been my shameless plug for it.

Looks like it's not available in the US. It's not like we have any other extremely accessible way to gamble our life savings away...

Somewhat similar, but I've been seeing ads for an app called Atlas:Earth and I looked into it some... it's a metaverse (I seriously cannot believe that word isn't considered a typo, how much did Zuck have to pay to get that done??) game where you "own" virtual AR "land" and apparently can get paid real money from it. The only problem is... what schmuck is paying rent to a virtual landlord for a virtual plot of land? We got enough problems with the real life landlords as it is!

My kid has gotten really into 99 Nights in the Forest, a Survival Horror game on Roblox. I've played it with her a couple of times and it's actually pretty decent. You have to explore a randomly generated map, collecting food, resources and better equipment and keeping your campfire fueled so it keeps you safe from the monsters that roam around during the night.

Where most Roblox games are monetized exactly like the scummiest mobile games, this one doesn't pester you constantly while playing. I think the only in-game prompt to spend money is when you die, where you can buy a revive, though there are also bandages you can find which can be used to revive other players.

I'm kinda surprised only 3 people made hollow knight. For the quality of the game you would have thought a bigger production team made something that good. It kinda explains why it took 6 years to make and honestly from what I've heard so far its been worth the wait.

I saw a streamer play a bit of Silksong today. I joined the stream just as he encountered one of the bosses for the first time and it was just him dying over and over getting a little farther each time.

It's definitely not a game for me. Having to learn the attack patterns through trial and error and then perfectly dodge each one just so you can get one, maybe two hits in every so often just isn't for me. But it looked good for the kind of people who enjoy that kind of stuff.

Did you know that was online when you bought it?

One of the reasons I never got back into real money poker was because my state specifically banned it. We can bet on how long the National Anthem will take in the Super Bowl, but can't play poker. We used to have some nice poker bars here in town.

I'VE HAD IT! Someone give me a number between 3 and 5.

Nope, my nephew told me about it and it is free. At least I think it is because I did not pay.

Yeeah, we can't play poker using Poker Stars or similar now in Norway and it is insanely dumb! You can join LEGAL tournaments and such with LOW price money locally or go abroad. Personally, I miss the times I could play at a local table against other people and win big. Meanwhile, there are SLOT machines you can gamble with in Norway. Yeah, THAT is rtrded....

I'm just starting to play https://store.steampowered.com/app/669330/Mechabellum/.

I'm liking it right now, buy the game really emphasizes multiplayer. I would describe it as a multiplayer game with a single-player mode. The solo mode is a survival mode. You just keep going round after round until you lose. There are also, however, player-made challenges to do solo.

That was weird. I was playing my first "Survival" in Mechabellium and the developer entered chat and asked me a question. I believe he thought I was someone else because he said, "So are people using crawlers less now since the patch?" I just apologized that I couldn't help him since I had just finished the tutorial minutes ago.

I got utterly destroyed in the final round of Survival, but learned a valuable lesson. The AI can do things I can't in between rounds. Like replace every unit he has and move everything around. I can't touch the units that were left over from last round. All I can do is create two or three new units and place them wherever I want.

And there are tons of different units. I'm quickly (not really) learning which units have synergies and which units do best against which units. There is a ton of strategy involved. I wish there was some type of campaign, but after my first Survival run (they don't actually go on forever. You can win them) I feel like I'll probably get my money's worth. I may be getting into these auto battlers.

Edit: By the way, the game automatically goes online, but you can still play Survival offline.

I can't even buy GoP3. Steam blocks me when I try to go to the store page and says the game is locked in my area. Not interested enough to see if a VPN would work.

You may prefer to play against humans. It's always fun to watch 6/9 people go all in on the first hand. But if you just want a relaxing game or two of poker against bots, the earlier Governor of Poker games were single-player only. AI isn't terrible, either.

Surprisingly scary game and it has a demo! You must play alone, use headphones, and turn off all the lights. Don't be a wuss! If you can get through the demo without any jump in heartbeats, I applaud you.
I'll try the demo. I have this thing about dead bodies. but that's what horror games are for.

That reminds me, I need to get back to Crime Scene Cleaner

@Kaamos_Llama In November of 2023, you and I briefly discussed this game:

It just recently came out of early access. I haven't played it again to see how it is now, but I remember having a lot of fun with it.

I did want to try this one out, but I think I might be too much of a baby to actually play this one.

I finally finished HROT last night. I can't remember when I started it or when I last stopped playing, but decided to pick it up again yesterday because I just wanted something simple. Turns out, I was only a few levels away from the end of the game.

It really doesn't show itself well at the end of the game, kind of feeling like the developers just wanted to wrap things up and call it a day. The penultimate level is basically just a hallway with three different arenas with enemies continually spawning in; finish one and then it's on to the next.

The last level is again just a (literal) arena where you fight a shirtless Putin riding a bear. Get him to 0% and he jumps off, now you fight the bear and Putin independently. Then Putin splits into 3. Then finish that fight and Putin jumps on a pterodactyl and also spawns in enemies. It wasn't hard per se, but given it was a three phase boss fight with a damage sponge, I ended-up running out of ammo each time and then was unable to actually melee, because the boss fly's. I'm sure I could have spent some of my ammo killing the spawned in mobs to gather-up some ammo, but honestly this all felt so slapped together, I had no desire to put in that effort.

Luckily, the developers put some cheats in, so I just cheated in some ammo and finished off Putin to get the game complete. Really enjoyed the game up until those last two levels, so it feels like a bit of a wet fart that the game went out like that.

Then started Robocop afterwards. Seems neat so far, but it's pretty taxing on my laptop, though it runs pretty well. Only did the opening mission, which was fun enough, but not exactly inspiring; I'll play it a little more here and if I end-up being bored, I'll give Selaco a go instead.

No problem - why would I turn on all the lights with all this sunlight streaming in?? ;)

That sunlight is going to make it hard to touch Elden Ring until later tonight. Sports get their rain delays; gamers get their sun delays.

This was my trouble yesterday. I needed to continue work on my car, but it was cloudy and cold; great weather for working in the garage in coveralls, but my initial inclination is to stay in the warm house and play video games all day.

My wife can't stand sunlight getting into the house. It messes up your monitor, your television and keeps you from sleeping late. Instead of shades, she got crazy thick curtains. It gets pretty dark in here when you turn the lights off.
