Only thing I don't like about this game where you fight on a Bullet Train and also have to ride a motorcycle on its back as well, is that there are no save points. Everytime you die you get taken back to start of the level

so video is very repetitive. I guess the other game made with same character in it this year probably has save points. But does it have machine guns and Bicycles?

@Colif @Zloth That was a rhetorical question. I don't want to get rid of them. I read user reviews probably every day, especially before I buy it. I've said many times before on here that if you know how to ignore the BS then user reviews (as a group) are better than professional reviews.
its the same with any search, you need to know which results to filter out :)

Google search front page might be all AI results soon. Make it harder for websites to get noticed at all. Talk about abusing a monopoly.

did they fix the bug where you can't play the base game unless you owned a DLC?'

I have no idea, I bought the whole package last month on sale.
Or sneakingly enable micro transactions in patches after release. Some problems like the above one about Avatar only happen years after release as well.
I don't care about MTX if it's not P@W or random loot box type things. I took a quick look at Avatar's store it appears it's all cosmetic stuff so that's whatever.

So, my computer is supposed to be delivered tomorrow, but UPS just gave me an update that there's a "Severe Weather Delay", which is interesting. Interesting, given the fact that my package arrived in my city at 1am today and it's currently 63*F and Sunny.

Was hoping to get it early and receive it today, but now hopefully UPS will be able to trudge through the 72* and Sunshine tomorrow and get it here.

UPS must have delivered the weather to the wrong place.
Least shocking news ever. If I have something important that's supposed to be delivered by UPS, I spend the day fasting, praying and self-flagellating. If it's really important, I may donate to the Pope and that guy on TV with the big hair. Some say there's no God, but I can't risk it. Not with a computer in transit.

They really are the worst.

I'm not experienced enough to say, but I've sold a ton of stuff on eBay and USPS has always been significantly cheaper and more reliable. Not sure why any sellers use UPS; even if my package arrives tomorrow, it was shipped at the same time as something else I bought, but that one went with USPS and will be here this afternoon.

Not that I don't have better things to be doing than setting up a new computer, but still.

This has been obvious for forever now, but Steam reviews are some of the worst ways to figure out if a game is good or not. Either there are tons of negative reviews for things like simple bugs or inconveniences, all the reviews are positive because they're memeing the game without real critical well thought out reviews, or what have you, they are all over the place.

I was looking at reviews for Crysis remastered, one review was positive and said "buttery smooth gameplay, works perfectly at 144hz 1440p, no issues whatsoever". That's fantastic, love a game that runs well.

Directly below it was a negative review that said "buggy as hell, total crashfest. avoid at all costs". You're messing with my head here!

We talked about this recently, but don't review something just because you yourself had hyper-specific issues with it. When the majority of reviews praise how well the game runs, and you run into some issues, to me that seems to be an end-user issue, perhaps something with their system not working properly. If you meet system requirements, have you checked to see if drivers are updated? Of course most of these reviews have comments turned off which is the default setting so there is no way to reply to let them know.

The main thing that I like about user reviews is that the good ones provide a level of detail that professional reviews don't. Personally I try to skip any review that's two paragraphs or less and only read the longer ones (unless the two paragraphs are huge). That helps you avoid the people on crack. Sometimes if I'm bored I'll read the short ones, but I usually regret it.

Well crap. I found a game that would be perfect for @BeardyHat and @Pifanjr . It was an RPG that looked like it was accidentally made by chimpanzees hitting an Apple IIc with sticks. Unfortunately I've lost it in Steam's nightmare of clutter.

No, Cyclopean is on my wishlist. But this was more like Dwarf Fortress on a bad day.

Just came across this:

Bloober Team's new survival horror game has a Steam page. Not a Bloober Team fan, but they did alright with the Silent Hill 2 remake.

I like them well enough. People seemed to get mad at them originally because Layers of Fear was a walking simulator.

Walking Sims are fine by me if where you're walking is interesting to look at. I got mad at them because they were a one trick pony. They've gotten better, but we'll see. The Medium was a pretty good step in the right direction.
I don't know, Observer is still one hell of an experience. Haven't played any of their other games though, but I highly recommend that to anyone who likes cyberpunk and horror.

You activated me :p I tried to play Crysis in about 2017, I couldnt get past the first hour of the game without it crashing to desktop, so to this day Ive only played Crysis 3 from the series, unless we include Far Cry 1.

Didnt leave a review though.

Seems the demo for Titan Quest 2 was on Epic and Steam 2 weeks ago, it was only a playtest and it doesn't seem to show on Epic now. Quick search shows its listed as unavailable.
Wish I had noticed...

I need to sleep for about a year so the game might actually release. No idea how far they are from actual release. Demo being available with only 3 classes and the first zone makes me wonder, how much more is there? How many years to go? Zed mentioning 20 hours might mean its mostly complete.

20 hours is about 3 days play (unless you crazy and don't sleep). 4 classes limits the number of multi classes you can have. Just like Grim Dawn, this game needs either expansions or DLC to flesh out the combo choices and make it longer.
2 mage type characters
1 warrior
1 rogue
Expansions can add new regions and classes. They sure make Grim Dawn bigger. Originally the game was really hard as there was a gap between certain areas where the difficulty spikes and makes game painful since your gear isn't likely to have matched the spike.
They added an expansion that is available at end of chapter 1, meaning you can avoid the power spike that came with original game.

Supposedly it could launch into early access any moment now with 12 - 14 hours of playtime while in early access with more to be added as they go. This thread might be interesting to you:

Unfortunately for Kaiserpunk, people have decided to be ridiculously critical. I think it's because the trailers were so good that people had unreasonable expectations. But I've played every aspect of it, including the wars and RTS combat, and it's actually a very good game.

If you've already got 40 hours in the game and your only complaint is that it could use a few more tool tips, I feel like you are just being an a-hole if you downvote the game for that.
