Games that I'm keeping an eye on that are launching in March ( some of these probably just interest me )--Most of these have demos

titan quest 2 is still coming soon but they added a new class in February to the early access game... which is also still coming.
That's a pretty game. I went to the Steam forums and a few people aren't happy that it is estimated to be 20 hours long, but not every game, even an ARPG, needs to be playable for hundreds of hours.

Of course, it will probably be priced inappropriately high.

Also, it looks like no one has any idea when it might come out since it's been delayed multiple times.

Well, the new rogue class being announced last month at least shows there is work being done still.

20 hours - depends on re-playability. Is that the demo or full game?
How do they know its length before its released?
if its like the previous one (and Grim Dawn), the re-playability comes with how many mastery combos there are.
With only 4 classes so far, there isn't much choice in combos in the early access.
Early access isn't meant to be an early start, its more bug testing... well, classic non AAA Early access anyway.

Where is it in early access? It's not planned to be early access on Steam. Do you have to go to the developer's website and apply for it?

And apparently the developer listed it somewhere as having 20 hours of playtime according to randoms on the Steam forum.

If I look in the announcement area it shows that it was announced in August last year
tXoOZhM.jpeg

but they may have changed their minds since. Pretty sure it used to show on front page that it was coming.
They haven't released it yet.
Nothing showing on the homepage for game as yet.

Now that it's March, I really need to decide if I'm going to spend the money on the games I have in my cart.

Command & Conquer Ultimate Collection - $6

I already own the ones I care about on Origin. I just want to get them off of there, because I never actually fire that one up and it would be nice to have easier access to them on my Deck when I want to play them (who knows when that will be.)

Cruelty Squad - $5.99

I have no real desire to play this one, but it's supposed to be very good and the gameplay is very much up my alley. I just struggle with that art style. I'm probably not going to play this immediately.

Blood West - $11.24

This is the one I really want. I'm probably not going to play it immediately, but it would go to the top of my list to play next.

I could probably dump the other two and just get Blood West, but I'm feeling a bit of fomo, like I ought to get the other two, because maybe I will want to play them sooner? But also, should I spend any money at all? My Resolution for this year was to spend less on games and so far I'm not succeeding; it's not like I need Blood West, as I still haven't played The Black Parade, the Thief mission pack I installed, which is supposed to be excellent.

I get asked about once a week to provide feedback on hobbyist PC games. I have no idea why this is happening or who is passing my Steam name around, but I'm officially retired from free work. I won't do it anymore without payment. And these guys won't pay me, so I'm actually just retired.

First of all, I'm not good at it, so it takes me a long time to come up with decent suggestions.

Second of all, it's all I can do to force myself to play these games long enough to even be able to make suggestions. At least half of these games are so bad my brain is begging me to quit within moments of hitting "New Game". Only Jesus could save these games, so I'm wasting my time.

Third, some of these people don't want suggestions. They want me to say, "Your game is perfect just as it is." So, again, I've completely wasted my time.

The last person I worked with sent me a note rebutting every single suggestion I made except that he hadn't correctly understood any of the suggestions because he was in freak out mode. I just, moments ago, sent him a note that said, "One major difference between successful people and unsuccessful people is that successful people learn how to use constructive criticism rather than being upset that someone suggested they weren't perfect. I'm definitely not perfect either, but I think I can tell you three things with certainty: Your game's progression is broken, random and unrewarding; your UI is one of the worst I've ever seen; and your communication of goals and purpose is non-existent. I felt like I was completing someone else's to do list, and I had no idea why or what the game was even about. But take it or leave it. It doesn't matter to me."

And with that I vowed not to say "yes" to these requests anymore. I think I know who to talk to to stop this. The first guy I worked with is a Brazilian dev who has sent me many games through the years to test dating back to 2014.

I did some "testing" for a friend about 10-years back. The game was...not good. I gave him lots of feedback as far as gameplay went, as well as the design of the protagonist (basically, an extremely busty woman with a tiny waist) and yeah, it was all ignored. Everything was a justification, so I just stopped bothering altogether.

So, I repasted my laptop with the apparently amazing Honeywell PTM 7950 on February 1st and only about three weeks later, it had "failed." My temps were worse than with my pumped out Kyronaut Extreme and I was getting very severe thermal throttling in Aliens and Black Mesa. That is way quicker than with the Kyronaut, which took at least a month or two to start heating-up again and again, didn't cause such severe throttling.

Doing some Googling, sometimes people seem to have this issue, but by and large, the general opinion seems to be that this stuff is pure ambrosia for PC's. So, I cleaned-up my old job and then put some more of it on, taking care this time to keep my heatsink relatively "loose", hoping that maybe my issue was due to overtightening. At any rate, I'll give it a test and see and if it fails this time, I'll go back to Kyronaut.

That is a lot of eyes!!
Shhh, that's why I made the post. This seems like a good place to keep my notes

Just wait till I start a thread titled "Good things to do today" or "My favorite groceries!"

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Actually, there are so many games releasing now, that listing games I'm curious about is really the only way I can do it. Unfortunately I have weird tastes. I think it would be cool to have a thread on the first of each month where everyone lists the games they think look good that are releasing during the month, but I'm doubtful that anyone would do it.

I would, but I just don't really look at new releases ever. I'm always finding something interesting, but usually it's old and I'm waiting for a deal or the time to actually play something.

Though I guess I could also post the games in my library I'm currently looking at playing soon.

Oh, I forgot to mention: I am glad it takes me only like 15 minutes to do a thermal paste/pad job on my laptop. After playing Black Mesa again last night, my temps were topping out around 80*c, versus the 96-97* from prior.

I know this stuff needs to go though a few heat cycles to really be effective and I was kind of thinking that maybe my prior job got borked so quickly because I never shut off my laptop; I tend to just set it out of the way, shut the lid and let it go, no sleep or anything.

So I'm going to start shutting it down at night and seeing if that makes a difference. It would be very nice to retain such low temps.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a game where you're responsible for the pace. If you get it into your head that you're going to do every quest, fight every optional fight, play every Queensblood opponent, get every protorelic piece, and try every minigame (never mind mastering them), then you're going to forget what's going on in the main story.

Just wait till I start a thread titled "Good things to do today" or "My favorite groceries!"
Given that moderators can edit any post, those topics could become quite entertaining. Don't forget to pick up the dried cod for the lutefisk!

...fight every optional fight...
I remember when playing the original that I occasionally got frustrated by the non-stop random fights when I was trying to move around the map. Of course, all the good games did that back then.

"The fish takes a gelatinous texture after being rehydrated for days prior to eating."

That would be a great diet food because I sure as heck wouldn't eat it. Just lock me in a room for a week with nothing but a bag of old gelatinous fish, and I'll come out a new man.

At first I thought it was fish jerky, which seemed bad, and then it took a horrible turn for the worst.

I had fun with the Killing Floor 3 demo even if its a former shadow of the other 2. I wouldnt be suprised if its delayed based on the feedback, but im here for it if it releases. Thats my big one this month.
Wow. I just went to their Steam forums. That's pretty ugly. If they want this to be a long-term money maker for them like the last two, I would think they would need to delay it, but it sounds like it's so far from what people were wanting that fixing it could take a very long time.

I don't know what they have changed and why it's so annoying to people. Could just be people not wanting any significant changes at all. Don't know. But it certainly looks like they could be review blasted into the bargain bin like Payday 3.

Yea, i mean my wife and i had fun playing it, the core zed experience is still there, but theres a lot visually that needs some work imo. I think some of the monster update models are OK, but the overall spectrum of color and the way everything looks when times slows down feels off. I dont fully disagree with the assessment that an entirely new team is making KF3.

@neogunhero Two Point Museum comes out on Tuesday, and the people who paid for early access have rated the game "Overwhelmingly Positive" with 97 percent positive reviews. People are claiming it's the best Two Point game.
Maybe I ought to try another one of these. I have Hospital, but it never lived up to Theme Hospital for me, so I pretty much just wrote the series off as a whole.

I finally participated in a free weekend, which I never do. I played 71 minutes of Expeditions: Mudrunner; I haven't picked it up, because big fans of Snowrunner (which I am) say that it isn't great and the gameplay changes aren't good.

But from what I played, it seems pretty solid and a nice push forward in terms of gameplay of the series. Snowrunner really felt like it nailed it in terms of evolving the original Spintires idea, so I can't imagine where they would have gone after. Again, I've played very little, but the evolution seems pretty interesting and I'll probably pick it up in the future when it's cheaper and I feel like I've finished Snowrunner (143 hours currently. Seems like I could easily play it for another 200).
