I'm about 15 hours into Silksong. its a really good game, tough but fair and the movement moment to moment just feels really good when you start picking up the abilities. Of course the art is fantastic, although I havent enjoyed the music quite as much as Hollow Knight, maybe just needs more time to work its way in.

A couple of the boss fights go on a bit too long for my taste. Sister Splinter and Moorwing both have very simple movesets which are all fairly easy to counter. What makes them hard is that you have to execute the same dodges and punishes for a very long time. To the point where I was wondering whether Ive missed some weapon upgrade I was meant to pick up, which apparently I havent. No idea how far in I am but I hear its massive. At the moment the good is far outweighing the frustration, but lets see how that goes as we move along. Took me 7 years on and off to beat Hollow Knight, I have time.

Still playing Pathfinder WOTR. Turns out Crusade mode is pretty involved and required in act 3. Its not too taxing but its not exactly brilliant either, Id kind of rather not but I appreciate the ambition in a way. The story and party combat remain pretty good and I want to know where this is all going so will continue.

Would you say silksong is harder then hollow knight? there's no doubt i'll get the game, but maybe leave it for a bit whilst a few more DLC gets added. Don't want to go back at a later date to sort out unfinished business.

Nice. I got Goblin Gloves at 50 and a wall decoration at 90. I just hit 90 this morning as took a break yesterday. Got 12 challenges done, might try for 20.

Flamewood Totem build is absolutely amazing. Really tanky and the totems have to taunt to trigger the Flamewood part. It's also really cheap. probably 2 div and I was handling tier 12 red maps and I suspect could go much further. Not having to have a 6 link means that you don't have much pressure on sockets.

Almost certain I'll play this again, probably Chieftain based in next league.

i might have a look at that build and see what its like. i'm not a fan of minion or totem builds but the latter i like experience in. The only time i played chieftain was probably using rightous fire. But i've been playing 2 berserker melee builds (volcanic fissure of snaking before it got nerfed and earthshatter).

But its immensely appealing that the skill doesn't need 6 links. Did you use a particular POB build?

Wife is going to be gone pretty much the entire day on Saturday so I'm trying to figure out what to do. I could game all day... expect I don't have games that will hold my attention for that long. Then I thought maybe I can use this time to install Linux to my PC. I'm still waiting for better Windows game compatibility but as far as I can tell, it is vastly improved year over year, making most games playable on Linux now. That still does not include the fact that some games may require community made scripts or installers, but I'm certain any time I run into that sort of issue, there will be a guide on how to overcome it.

If I go through with it, it will definitely be a dual-boot situation. I will also have to choose a distro and desktop, and for that there are a trillion recommendations. One idea I had was just to follow Valve's footsteps and go Arch with KDE Plasma for desktop. They trust it to be reliable enough for their hardware so it wouldn't be a bad choice, but I also do know some distros and desktop environments can be much more complicated than others. It will take a very long time to get over the fact that I can just install stuff with a command line. But I'm starting to get very peeved at Microsoft as a whole for a myriad of different reasons, and I enjoy the idea of actually owning the hardware and software you use.

Would you say silksong is harder then hollow knight?
I think so, but I also found Hollow Knight pretty tough in the beginning. Ive already got a dash and wall climb, just need the double jump and whatever else that might be coming. Movement is better and more nuanced in that you can grab onto ledges and Hornet does some flips and smaller movements that feel good when you're bouncing off of enemies heads etc, but also the levels are harder to navigate than HK. It's also possible to switch up weapon and dash movesets, I have one alternative already, but the stock moveset has the downward jump attack as a diagonal dive which takes some getting used to especially when youre bouncing off of things to stay in the air.

The enemies in general are a lot harder to predict and tend to jump and have more moves than HK, when you add that to the level design being harder to navigate with spikes and disappearing platforms and more, then yea its definitely harder now Ive typed all that out lol.
