Comparing CPU Maximum Frequency to CPU Usage on the little chart sure shows how much you leaving on table
ii77Ibg.jpeg

Blue is Frequency, the Green is usage

If you want too much info about windows you just load

Process Explorer
This page shows what all the colours and headings mean, link at bottom of it shows how to use it to find problems. You can right click processes and run an av scan from within the program.

Or just use HWINFO and set up charts to monitor individual parts of the PC, and put those on screen... and make a post about how to do it... nah, have to be mad to do that:

I had real fish for about 5 years, fake ones really don't do it for me. At least you don't have to clean out the dead ones.

I kept fish, too, but I still find the aquarium "game" relaxing.

I'm considering cleaning out my tank and keeping fish again. I've never done salt water before. If you like fish and management/tycoon games, Megaquarium is pretty awesome. It's on sale, incidentally.

Why does File Explorer now ignore the "." in the search? I
did you ask AI?

Reasons for the Change

  • "Results-as-you-type" Optimization: Modern File Explorer immediately searches for files as soon as you start typing. It assumes a . is a file extension delimiter, not part of the file name you are looking for.
  • Performance & Indexing: To make searches faster, Windows relies heavily on the indexer, which often treats special characters like . as delimiters to split search terms.
  • Ignoring File Extensions: If you search for "file.doc," Explorer might prioritize finding "file" rather than the exact name "file.doc," leading to unexpected results.
the new temp dark theme sure makes trophies look strange

I asked CoPilot, and all it said was "I need permission to search your drives" and gave me a yes/no option. Since i can search the drives myself, I just ignored it. I got rid of CoPilot on my laptop. I don't want it having any more access to anything since it can't actually do anything but snoop and search for files. If some day it can reliably fix problems, I'll consider it, but after asking it plenty of coding questions, I'm not confident it won't regularly cause catastrophy.

oh, the only AI I see is the one Google uses for searches now, that is the source of my previous post
That's a relatively useful AI, but it isn't as accurate at interpreting your questions properly. It might be an SLM (a lite version of an LLM) so that it doesn't cause any delays when people search. One of the main things that people have traditionally liked about Google was its speed, and Google's full LLM, Gemini, is slow as heck. SLM's can chat, but their logic/reasoning is pretty weak.
