We used to have to guess when Steam sales were happening, but now we can plan out the entire year.

Actually, that was helpful. I will now not buy anything else until next month (maybe that's why Valve didn't used to publicize the sale dates):

It is useful to know the dates in advance, as it's frustrating to buy a game at full price only to find it on sale a few days or weeks later. There's also Steam's "Mid-week Madness", "Weekend", and "Publisher" sales that pop up at times, but those are always on the front page.

Good to know. Now i can organize and wait as to when to expect special offers for prices and reduce getting burned buying a game just a few weeks/months before it goes on sale for a cheaper price. ATM i'm waiting for planet coaster + DLC but i can wait a bit got hundreds of games to play...

i personally use isthereanydeal.com and set a very parameters let it ping me an email when the price is right. Still going to wait a bit though as whilst planet coaster the game itself is cheap, the DLC is what i'm also after so we'll wait till i can get them all in a nice neat deal at a rock bottom price.

Right, me too. That extension is made by ITAD, but gets lots of extra info from other sites like SteamCharts, SteamDB etc.

I always like to know how good a good deal really is historically.
