Finally have my first mechanical keyboard, as my Logitech K520 was starting to show its age. It already had paint and the like on it, but more so, I felt the key presses were not registering as they should and I figured I'd had it for...10+ years maybe, so it was time for something else. I picked-up this Aula F99 board in Grey/White and so far, I'm enjoying it, though it's very much different from the membranes I'm used to.
It seems pretty neat so far, though I haven't used it much since I just got it yesterday and my desktop isn't really my primary machine. My only complaints are that it's much taller than my old Logitech, so I have to adjust how I sit and where my monitor is, as I need to pull my keyboard tray out, rather than use it underneath my desk. This is probably a good thing overall, but I do need to get acquainted with it, as it feels pretty weird. Only other issue is that it lacks volume control, something I used constantly on my old keyboard. I do have a SoundBlaster Omni 5.1, which has controls on it, so I moved it into a different position and am going to try to switch to that for my volume control. The switches overall seem pretty quiet and they have a nice muted clack to them.
Oh, it also has RGB. It looks neat, especially all the different modes you can use with it, but I'm just going to leave it as a basic keyboard backlight, as all the flashing colors and whatnot just seem like a huge distraction.
