But have you ever used a split keyboard? The cool thing about it is that you can remove the other half and have a LOT of free space on your desk to move your mouse around. This is especially useful when you play CS or any other shooter game where you don't need the whole keyboard but have to move your mouse around a lot.

Well i sort of agree but not 100%. Gaming keyboards, atleast good ones, often focus on things like latency and tactile feedback and yes you sure can get non gaming keyboards that are just as good but there are allso allot keyboards that actually can hinder you by being sluggish, squbbly, squashy, mushy etc. Yes you probably wont loose Minecraft by not having the top of the line keyboard but you sure can loose a top level CS match by having a bad one.

I love how the fav gaming keyboard doesn't tell you what one it is and only shows a link that Ublock origin blocks for every choice

Shame its Asus and there is only one of their keyboards I know of that doesn't require Armory Crate full version to install the drivers - a new one uses a smaller version of the software... progress?

So my Nuphy keyboard has been randomly forgetting what the windows key does. I would press it and nothing happens.
I have found a way to make it work again, a certain key combo, but this keyboard isn't meant to have a windows lock function. And it would forget the button again as soon as it was turned off.

i found some other people with same problems with different models and tried their answers, such as:

• switch from Windows mode to Mac mode and back again
• Also running it plugged into USB C cable, possible it just needed power.

seems its colour scheme changed as well and I don't remember doing it. Possible to have been changed by something being on just the right key combo, maybe...

Unplugging it after a day or so, it seems to remember now even if I run it on BT, so i keep an eye on it. The BT meter in windows always shows 100% which isn't accurate so I have to just think to plug it in every few days.

Edit: Can only assume it was power. Its worked ever since I charged it
changed colour scheme and I am close to one I had before. background color when i type has changed from rainbow to blue.

they make solid boards, space bar on that can't be a ghost bar if its louder than the rest
If they ever update mine with hall effect keys I might upgrade to it... newer ones have better software, use VIA so open source. I don't even bother with software on mine.

If you're thinking of trying SteelSeries, the Apex Pro TKL is a solid choice—great build quality and the customizable actuation is awesome if you’re into tweaking settings. Plus, since you already have SteelSeries Engine installed, it’s a seamless transition.

Another brand worth considering is Keychron if you’re open to a more minimalist or custom feel. They’ve got solid wired options like the Keychron Q Series, and you can swap switches if you’re into that.

If you want something premium and reliable without breaking the bank like that $700 wireless, maybe look at Ducky or Leopold. Both have fantastic mechanical boards, great key feel, and no bloaty software.

Don't buy Corsair Custom gaming keyboards, or at least, don't until they are better

They over priced, they charge like a bull for basic parts that should be included by default, and the parts aren't that great to begin with. They own Drop but didn't even use any of the parts you can buy there. They sell better parts on Drop.

They are custom but they don't have the latest switches so no Hall Effect here...

I think they saw the craze for custom keyboards and wanted to profit off it, selling to their customers who may not know you can get way better keyboards for the price. If you are charging people $400 for a custom keyboard, it better be amazing.

Ah, you follow Hipyotech. I'm subbed to him as with RandomFrankP and a number of other people before I got into the world of mechanical keyboards. They did help a little with narrowing down my mechanical keyboard but most of it also subjective.

Corsair don't make keyboards like they used to. By used to, I mean they now have bloatware, their stuff are now considered overpriced plastic and their designs are generic with regards to what they released during their first foray into the world of mechanical keyboards(which were soldered on switches. Their angular designs from 2010 put them on the map.

i don't follow him, that randomly appeared. I watched him a few months ago when my last Nuphy keyboard died. And I was looking to see if I should get something else... I didn't. Now waiting for V3 of the keyboard I use. I wish they would just stick to one software tool to change settings on the keyboards. Every one I have owned so far has had a new tool, and Version 3 will as well. Its web based now which is the latest trend.

Still struggle some days to see the lettering on the keycaps on this keyboard... once they release Version 3 I will give this one to mum.

Maybe after Xmas I will look into buying a new key set for my keyboard so I can actually read the keys on it. Its so common to have fingers in the wrong place... really hard to read grey writing on a white background.

I'm at a loss for words. When I built my new PC I bought a new mouse, headset and keyboard from Steel Series. As of just moments ago, none of them are functional. The keyboard was the last to go. It's getting annoying just shipping them all back. I'm just going to become a logitech person. I've never had a problem with them.

Never had a steelseries Keyboard, I have looked last two times but the ones I look at are too expensive here. Only problem I have now is based on my choices of keycaps.
No idea about headsets since I still haven't bought one. I have other choices

The only thing I bought refurbished was the mouse, and that was an accident. However the keyboard suddenly started working again. Half the keys weren't working before.

It is the best keyboard i have ever owned but it does a couple of odd things.
If a candle bulb blows and pops my main fuse and interupts the power the keyboard lights score and the keyboard wont work so before i turn pc back on i unplug it then at desktop with for no keyboard message then plug it in.

I have only ever been able to use it as plug and play with standard red lights .... i dont mind that ... but i have never got a driver that let me program the lights different or customise the keyboard.

I have the same keyboard. I've had it 7 years. I bought the white key caps for it.
