Good video and what a fantastic game BG3 is! I do wonder what their next project will be. Any ideas? Since he mentions shiny, I started thinking about a LOTR game. I don't see them striking a deal with the Embracer Group though and I think Amazon Games is making a LOTR MMO, so that is wishful thinking.

Another possibility could be a new Ultima game if EA wants to give them the chance. It's not like they are doing anything good with that IP anyway.

I believe they've already said they aren't doing a famous IP this time. I could be misremembering.

From what they say in this article it sounds like they're making an entirely new IP (or two). It's definitely not Ultima... unless it is Ultima and they want to keep it a surprise.

Based on this and other MrBeast stories he doesn't seem like a person you'd like to know. Shame that he's apparently the most popular YouTuber

He seems to be the kind of person who does whatever he thinks will be funny and popular at any given moment.

Which is totally abhorrent to me as someone who does whatever I think will be irritating and unpopular at any given moment.

we talked about that here

It was a dumb idea by a clueless exec. If you a hardware company, why not offer a sub for hardware instead of software.
Sub would need to be yearly to make any sense. No one wants an online only mouse.

“Those are all my keywords, and I reckon the same goes for a lot of other immersive sim sickos out there.”

Me too Joshua, me too.

No screenshots, no trailer, not even a title, and it’s already sounding like something I’ll be extremely excited about.

You got there just before I did! Very optimistic for this. I may even break my recent habit and give them money up-front, sight-unseen. With the closure of Arkane Austin I figure I need to step up and put my money where my mouth is if I want more immersive sims.

That’s exactly right. Immersive sims aren’t the most popular kinds of games, so it’s up to us the fans of the genre to make sure we keep it alive. Arkane will be missed, so many great games came from them, so knowing the founders are involved in this makes me very optimistic for this unknown game.

I know what you mean but I feel like Blade by himself isn't any more a superhero than Corvo is. Less, arguably: Corvo has all sorts of wacky powers by the end.
Thats true, to be clear I dont dislike Blade or superheroes/powers in general, I'm pretty neutral, some of its alright.

Its when I consider the licensing was likely forced/pushed on them by upper management, look at what happened when ideas were forced on their sister studio with Redfall, and then think about how I couldnt get into Deathloop. I cant bring myself to have much hope. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I get exactly what you mean, and I hope that the choice to make a Blade game came from the love of the franchise, not what upper-management thinks will sell well. The Blade movies are very campy but I thoroughly enjoy them for what they are, edgy grimdark hack and slash movies. I would much prefer to watch Blade over any modern Marvel movie, so I have good hopes for the game. The art style in the teaser trailer seems very unique.

I'm sure it was pushed on them by management in an attempt to garner extra sales over an original franchise. However:
  • Blade is just a theme pasted onto what looks like a real imsim, whereas Redfall was forced to be a multiplayer looter-shooter, and it's very different to just have to fit a theme vs having to design a totally different type of game;
  • Arkane Lyon was always the senior studio—not to knock Arkane Austin, but they were very much the junior partner;
  • Deathloop got a lot better after the “gameplay accessibility options” that came with Update 3.
So perhaps there is more room for hope than you dare to believe?

Maybe, as I said hopefully.

Apparently I spent 6 hours in Deathloop, and it didnt grab me, not sure a patch would help. I just remember the combat wasnt much fun somehow, and the world wasnt that interesting to me. Ive considered giving it another go sometimes, and have it installed, but at this point theres a lot of other games on the waiting list in front of it.

Prey is my favourite Arkane combined game although I missed everything pre Dishonored so its only out of those 4. Redfall didnt sound interesting at all so I never tried it, same as Wolfenstein Youngblood.

I still don't quite understand people who just watch other people play video games, but I have come to enjoy watching other people playing video games in ridiculous ways.
I can’t watch regular “let’s play” videos like that. It needs to be formatted in an entertaining way, or they player needs to be doing something different in game to make it more entertaining. Let’s Game It Out is a great channel for this, every game he plays he tried to push it to its breaking point, but his editing style and voice may put some people off. I find his video extremely hilarious at times though.
