May be, Pinball 😀. And then games genre fighting, adventures and sport, like The King Of Fighter, Tekken, Dragon Ball, Winning Eleveen, Super Mario Bros, Contra and many more. hehe
The absolute first video game I remember playing was Pong, like many older people. In the arcade I remember Tempest being my favorite, not sure if it was the first though. I don't really count those because they weren't PC games.
My first real PC Game I remember playing was Ultima III in high school. A friend had a cracked copy and we would ditch out of class and go to the Social Studies lab and play it on their glorious Apple IIe PCs in beautiful CRT Green (haha). When we beat the game we used a hex editor to restructure the map and make a bunch of custom mob changes and then played through it again.
Is it all right if we talk about people's first game? Or is it strictly say your game then move on?
In case it's the former, I just wanted to say that I love seeing the wide variety of first games, and love how diverse it gets the younger or newer a player is, due to there being tens of thousands of options, instead of old farts like myself where it tends to be limited to the likes of "Pong", "Space Invaders", "Breakout", "Pac-Man", "Donkey Kong", etc.
