Valheim graphics settings.

I just started using this game and just set it going without altering anything.
My gtx 1080 card shot up to 100% and the temp hit 84.
What effects and settings can i turn down or off

My screen res is 1920 x 1080 @ 144 fps the card fans went it overdrive so i dropped fps to 90

Is it only in Valheim that such temperatures occur? And how long ago did you change the thermal pads on your video card?

You shouldnt be hitting max temp just because a game is demanding. Have you tried creating a fan profile in MSI Afterburner?

If that doesnt help much, you may need to give the case fan filters and GPU heatsink a good blow dusting, add some more fans to the case, or finally maybe repaste the GPU with some new thermal paste. The last one takes a bit of care and research but isnt really that complicated as long as youre careful, look up a teardown of the exact card you have and order some decent non conductive paste to use (its cheap), or you could see if a shop would do it for you, its a quick job if you have experience so shouldnt be hugely expensive.
