Definitely hard to say, but I suppose I'd have to go with Ultima Online. I played at launch and it was definitely an experience that affected my life in a lot of good ways. Was it the BEST game I have ever played? I'm going with a no on that. :) But I definitely think it was my favorite, and the one I have the fondest memories of.

I am not eligible to win the fancy chair of my dreams, but I MUST chime in here...

EverQuest - the game that truly brought me into contact with new friends, globally, whom I would still keep in contact with these 20+ years later. Where I met my future husband. Where we all learned that we have so much to gain from working together in real time. Plus it was incredibly hard, and achievements meant a lot. :)

Pokemon Red for the Gameboy

This was very tricky to pick actually, and it's really the specific experience of playing it that first night. It's one of two experiences that I compare all other games to on the scale of how enjoyable I find them. The wonderment and sense of adventure that first night of playing the game is what very few things compare to.

Favourite game of all time is FFVIII.

This is the game that truly hooked me into loving games and blurring the lines of where my world ended and the game worlds began. I remember the name of Yoshinori Kitase as being a name that I saw several times a day for years and it made me want to be involved in making games. Initially, I wanted to be a Games Designer (despite not knowing what that meant, I think 8 years old me took that to mean scriptwriter).

The game was beautiful, the graphics were breathtaking and groundbreaking. The story was rich and the world was massive. I had the power to be the hero and save the girl. It helped develop my moral compass as to what was right and wrong and I'm pretty sure the reason why I often come across as abrasive and stand-offish whilst having a heart of gold and all the good intent is that I was raised by Squall.

I had a fear for years that I should never go back to FFVIII for fear of it not living up to my memories. I have since played it twice in the past two years and it is everything I remember it to be.

All time favorite?!

I've been playing computer games for most of my life! It's a tough choice. If I had to pick ONE, then I'm going with Jagged Alliance 2. The dynamic campaign, the character interactions, the real-time movement and turn-based combat... all the boxes are checked on this one. It's shame we might never see a proper, worthy return to the series in a modern title. I'm sure if there was a way to see how many total hours I've poured in to the isle of Arulco (had the game before Steam existed), it would stand tall next to the heavy hitters like Skyrim, GTAV, and the FalloutIII/IV.

The first Resident Evil on the PlayStation in 1996. I can still quote the entire opening video dialogue from start to finish.

It was a large game, the story was done well for a video (despite being largely generic) with a couple of neat twists. I'll never forget the second time you go through the L-shaped hallway on the east side of the mansion; absolutely nothing happens at first, maybe you move one of the cabinets to get the ammo clip, but when you come back through later on, dogs! Those damn dogs jump through the windows, so you keep running, round the corner, then a dog jumps through the window in front of you.

I've been a fan of horror ever since I was a little kid, probably because my mom would watch Friday the 13th and she'd let me watch it with her, and Resident Evil basically cemented my love of horror video games.

Unreal is my absolute favorite game ever made because it sparked my passion in gaming and collecting. It truely felt like there was a real world on the other side of my monitor and really worked my Imagination about what else goes on in this world.
