PCG Article Subnautica studio will reveal its new sci-fi strategy game at Gamescom

Unknown Worlds will officially announce the title and show off gameplay during the big opening show.

Strategy is a pretty broad category, so there's no telling what this actually is, but Unknown Worlds' previous games were Subnautica and Subnautica Below Zero, and if this game is of the same quality as those, it will be fantastic.

The best part of the article was where Geoff Keighly misspelled Subnautica and linked everyone to a NSFW porn Twitter account.

But, anyway, the only things we know are sci-fi, strategy, and turn-based (@WoodenSaucer ), but that's enough to get me excited.

The reveal is sometime during the show that starts at 8:00 on 23 August.

When they started buying up people, I was a little concerned that perhaps making PUBG didn't qualify them to head up a multinational megacorps (haha), but apparently they are just letting the studios they buy do their own thing.

When they started buying up people, I was a little concerned that perhaps making PUBG didn't qualify them to head up a multinational megacorps (haha), but apparently they are just letting the studios they buy do their own thing.

That's one of the better ways to run a gaming company, you could say... rather than buying a company just to kill off its competitor product like other companies do. 🙄

What does Sanderson have to do with the game? The guy is master at writing 'hard magic' fantasy settings, but this doesn't look like the kind of game that's going to have much need of a deep story or interesting magic.

I wonder if the game will be like Blackguards or the King's Bounty games?

Maybe because he loves video games in general and wants to get involved in them more? He was semi joking/complaining a while back about FromSoft approaching GRR Martin for Elden Ring because he loves Souls games and GRR doesnt care about video games at all.

Overall, I was disappointed in the video itself. I'm don't know if the game will be good or bad, but I don't think that video put it in a very good light. It was like the old Saturday morning toy commercials.

He was making some positive noises about making progress quite recently on his blog. Then again I havent followed it closely so he might always be doing that. Great books, I hope he sticks the landing better than the series did.

Yeah, I've been waiting for the next book in the Hunted Earth series for about that long. Probably not a good thing when the author doesn't even bother to set up information on Amazon.
