Tempted. I have until the 8th of November to decide.

Not live blogging 911 Operator...No Spoilers....

11:20 I start the tutorial and my first day of work. You have a map of the city and some fire trucks, police cars and ambulances. Spreading them out before the day starts is probably a good idea. So far there are basically two types of missions, ones that just pop up on the map and you direct the nearest appropriate vehicle there (if you think the situation warrants it), and phone calls. Phone calls are much more involved. You may need to interrogate the caller, trace calls, etc.

11:28 I have finished the first day, and presumably the tutorial. I had one small and one large failure. The small failure had a 1 point deduction. It was because I didn't have a firetruck near enough to the scene, so they arrived late. The large failure deducted 6 points, but I can't say why for spoiler reasons.

11:29 At the end of the day, I have the option to buy new vehicles (not enough money yet), hire new staff and buy equipment for the staff. For some reason my medics don't have first aid kits, so I buy those for them, but maybe those are actually for the firemen and policemen? Surely the medics already have that sort of thing. I give them to my medics anyway. Then I buy bulletproof vests for each of my police. Now I'm broke. Time to start a new day.

11:50 I finish day two which ends the level. I completed all the missions and made $30,000 for new equipment and vehicles (not enough money yet). The next level is Albuquerque, New Mexico. At the start of each level, you can change the difficulty.

So far I'm having a lot of fun. My only complaint is that the humor on day 2 kind of missed its mark. A woman called because she couldn't control her teenage daughter who was rampaging around the house destroying everything, and one of the options was to ask the woman if she wanted the police to shoot her daughter. I didn't find that amusing at all. Twenty-nine percent of teen girls suffer at least one bout of Major Depression, and there isn't anything funny about it, especially not discussion of shooting them. But other than that, it's been fun.

Thank you for the input, @ZedClampet. Yeah, that kind of humor does not seem right for this type of game. Maybe they were inspired by some of the older Fallout games; who knows? It looks like it will be a buy for me then. It seems interesting enough from what you said, and the complete edition costs less than a beer at the local pub, so that is also a win.

I didn't go into too much detail on the missions for spoiler reasons, but there are important decisions to make, which is fun. And there was an incident that required the police, and I had two cruisers near it, so I just sent both assuming I could pull one away if needed, and it turned into a "shots fired" situation, so I felt I did well there. I'm actually getting ready to play some more, and this wasn't on my radar before your post, so that's a good sign.

Now I have very little time for games because I started working. It’s tough to balance work and studies, and there’s really not much time left for rest or personal hobbies. Recently, I got very interested in blackjack. Now, after work, I try to find a little free time to play it. I was never into card games before, but now I really want to learn and play different games like this.

@Frindis just letting you know that the game gets really hectic on higher difficulties. Actually on normal difficulty you are having to decide where to send people because you don't have enough units. On Easy it's fairly relaxing.

Also, people calling in who have found the dead bodies of their children is pretty damn intense and could trigger some people, as could the suicide victims. It doesn't pull any punches

My wife has been asking me to play Magic the Gathering with her for years, but I've bounced off of it every time I tried. I installed MtG Arena again a couple of days ago and finally made it out of the tutorial, so now I can actually make my own deck. Turns out the game is pretty fun, it's just the tutorial that's horrendous.

I have tried an app in the past that didn't have a tutorial, but it had every card in MtG history available from the start, which is way too overwhelming. You're basically forced to play with a deck someone else has made because there's no way you can go through the thousands of cards by yourself.

Lol, I'm officially the worst emergency responder manager in the universe. I have 4 ambulances driving around with patients in them (I didn't realize they hadn't been dropped off at the hospital), all my police are under enemy fire, and there are criminals standing on the side of the road needing transport because all my police vehicles are full. I need to be fired immediately.

I'm starting the level over again. At this difficulty, the best I can do is prioritize as I see best. Your car was just stolen? Oh, well, buddy. Call someone who cares because I got a gang war, 3 armed robberies, and a terrorist getting ready to blow up a building, and I only have 4 units. Having a heart attack? Let me walk you through the theory of self-CPR because all my ambulances are helping shooting victims.

Keep saving those taxpayer dollars, @ZedClampet - you're doing great!

Reddit is leading me on! I've been crashing on startup in BG3 sometimes, which is a BIG pain because the game resets every config option when that happens and forgets every tutorial bubble you got as well. Skipping the launcher is supposed to help with that, and Reddit had a post showing how to skip the launcher. They also threw in another command parameter that was supposed to make the game immediately load your latest save.

OH! I've been wanting that feature for sooooo long! But it doesn't work. Or at least I couldn't make it work.

I was lazily working on a comedy Halloween story for the site called "Karen, Your Love, Your Yandere" but I have abandoned it due to moderation concerns. Here's one of the pictures I made for it:

It's the journey not the destination, and I had fun writing it and making the pictures even though no one will read it. In fact, I'm thinking about doing another one just for fun.

How to install GOG games on Steam Deck

Love Heroic, my only complaint is that I'm neurotic and hate that Steam can't or won't track playtime on non-steam games.

I couldn't care less about achievements, but somehow I'm desperate to see my playtime in games.

I just can’t keep up in online PVP games anymore.

I’ve been messing with Black Ops 6 a bit since it came out on Game Pass. Zombies is okay, pretty basic by COD standards, campaign is frustrating because all I want to do to kill enemies but they’re making you have a hub world, characters with dialogue trees to learn more about them, stealth missions, all sort of things that I wish it wasn’t. It’s funny because for core COD fans it’s one of the best campaigns in years. To me, I’m disappointed I’m not just constantly shooting people every minute of the game I play lol.

I tried to play some Multiplayer, and the first match of Team Deathmatch I played I did pretty good!! I was top of the leaderboard for my team, and I got about 15 kills. The thing with COD is that your aim does not need to be 100% accurate. You can shoot pretty close to the side of enemies and the bullet will most likely hit them. However the next two match I played I got totally destroyed. Those two matches put me against people who have been playing the multiplayer a lot more than me, but my goodness they were very good. The new movement system in this game makes people able to dolphin dive and slide all over the map like a darn circus act. It’s hard to keep track of them when they’re flying all over the damn place. On top of that, COD’s multiplayer guns really focus on Time To Kill, so even if you have a gun with good damage but low TTK, you will most likely lose against someone with opposite stats on their gun. The starting guns aren’t great is what I’m trying to say. Overall, I’m not sure how much more time I will dedicated to Blops6.

I did finally get around to downloading the Resistance Mod for Far Cry 5. After playing FC6 for a good 10-15 hours over the past few weeks, I’ve been wanting to go back to FC5. Turns out I haven’t played it in over two years, which got me even more excited to get the Resistance mod installed. So far I’ve only included pretty basic mod settings, like increasing NPC spawns, NPC clothes and gun randomizers, the Resistance meter needing to be fully 100%’d before taking on the region boss(!!!!), and adding in extra clothing, weapons, etc to the stores.

I only played for a good two hours, but overall I think I like this better over FC6. FC6 took things a bit too arcadey for my liking, especially with clothing giving you unique perks such as being able to sprint faster than cars. FC5 feels a bit more grounded in reality and I like that a lot. Another thing I was missing was the companion system in FC5, it’s done so much better IMO. I actually enjoy having a companion or gun for hire alongside me, instead of an outrageously violent animal friend by my side. Also the combat feels better in FC5. The enemies feel like they move around a lot more, their death animations look better than FC6, and overall shooting mechanics feel a lot weightier.

I think I’ll be moving onto FC5 now as my go to relaxing game if I’m not playing Minecraft. FC6 is good but I think FC5 is a lot better.

Bought two new games today: Dirt Rally 2.0 GOTY and 911 Complete Edition. Both are still on sale for a decent discount.

Still trucking along in honor mode BG3. I had a fight in Act 2 that could have ended my run because I didn't know all of the enemy's abilities. I knew that I could get frightened (which means you can't move and have a disadvantage on attacks) so I would counter that by having a spell avoiding that. Then I thought that I could just throw Sleet Storm (make the ground icy) on the ground and that would make them either go prone (fall to the ground for 1 round) or have their movement speed slowed to half. Then I also had put down blade barrier (hurt if you walk into them) into a small gap with a couple elemental waiting there to slap the enemies around before meeting my party.

Now, what happened next is that it did work for half of the group of enemies, but the rest they could jump a very long distance and OVER the gab, something that took me by surprise. So two of them reached my party and got one of my party members paralyzed (you can't do anything for two rounds) and the rest frightened. I obviously should have used the spell against being frightened before the fight began, but I was so confident that I could just have them slowly walking into the small gap and then finish up whatever was left.

The first two turns were stressful, but I got the upper and slowly ticked their health down. Lesson Learned!

No, no, no. You're supposed to accuse everyone else of cheating.

If you are going back to FC5, I have a challenge for you. See if you can find a rock that looks like a wolf. If you find it, I'll grant you nobility (I'm declaring my house an independent nation on election day). If you don't find it, @Brian Boru will shout your name while doing his morning push-ups (note, originally I said something else that, in retrospect, could sound pretty dirty depending on the way you think. My apologies. That wasn't intended).

DR2.0 is a great game and may be the last great rally game for a long time. Codemasters is on the bullet train to Hell. Everything they've done since joining the cult of EA has been crap, and EA bought and immediately closed Slightly Mad Studios, so EA is trying to singlehandedly destroy the racing genre. We desperately need Sony to start putting Gran Turismo on PC.

I asked CoPilot to port the latest edition to PC, and it called me "cheeky".
