Already played some more COE33 this morning (it's 6:30am). I'm in the second dungeon. So far it is really easy. I don't think a mob has got an attack in yet. I've killed one boss, but I think he was an optional boss.

There's one thing I was a little unsettled by. I came across this repeating enemy who only gives you so many turns to beat him and then he runs away. If you beat him, you get a treasure. Well, this time, he had an outrageous amount of health, hundreds of thousands, and I only had two turns. I didn't even come close. If other people are killing this guy without the Maelle cheese, then I have no idea how they are doing it.

I never moved bases when I played, but I did have a forklift at my base just in case. Not sure how far I would have gotten with it.

One reason I stopped playing was because I didn't set resources to respawn, and I was having difficulty doing anything. Apparently I missed the recipe for the poop grenade you mentioned above, so I was having to shoot everyone with ever-dwindling amounts of ammo.

But the main reason was the big invisible guy who tracks you apparently for the rest of the game. He shows up and you have to stare at him for a few seconds or he kills you. The problem is that after you heard him it was a mad dash to find him since he was often hidden behind a corner. Maybe I just wasn't doing it right, but after about the n-teenth time he killed me I lost interest. If I decide I am going to play it again, I will mod him out of the game.

Yeah, same reason I stopped in the first place. I'm not sure if they've toned him down or what, but he's only gotten me once so far in this run and yeah, it was annoying. Otherwise, I so far haven't had any trouble spotting him consistently and I just built a gun that's supposed to get him to go away and drop specific materials I need to progress in the game.

I do have the Forklift, but it's a little tedious driving back and forth between the labs area and my base in office sector and it's kind of killing my motivation, but at the same time, again I don't want to be trucking everything back to the main base when I'm done with the area.

We'll see what happens. I still do like the game, but I can tell I might be getting a little bored because I keep looking for something else to play. Really wish I could get into the Hex & Counter style wargames; I keep looking at them and I have half a dozen or so in my Steam library, but they never seem to grab me.

For some reason I feel compelled to play something on my Windows tablet. Really not sure why, the specs on it are pretty awful, it can barely run Terraria, the keyboard and touchpad are just kind of eh.

But it is nice that it's so small and lightweight, I like that I can put it in portrait mode and play Heroes of Might & Magic two with touch like that. I like that it's not heating up my lap, especially as things get warmer here.

I feel like it and my Deck compliment each other well, but I also feel like such a setup doesn't make much sense when my laptop only weighs a half pound more than those two put together and can do everything either of them can do better.

I played a ton of Morrowind this past weekend. All the small mods and improvements really make the experience a lot more enjoyable. Specifically, increasing view distance to see miles ahead of you, FOV slider turned to 120, lighting improvements, AI texture upscaling, performance mods, and Tamriel Rebuilt really make the entire experience a whole lot better for me. The FOV slider makes the game almost feel like a boomer shooter and I love it, especially when I'm drinking my speed potions and hopping around all over the place.

Along my adventures, I stumbled into Mournhold, the main city that the Tribunal expansion starts off in. I didn't want to start the DLC quests yet, but decided to roam around and complete a few sidequests. It was a nice city, very large and a bit easy to get lost in as cities in this game tend to be, but there was one thing that kept occurring to me: I was not having a good time. One beggar kept hustling me out of more and more gold and wouldn't let me go until I had to attack him, another smooth-brained Nord forced me to help retrieve his friend who has been kidnapped and hustled me into paying a 3000 gold ransom just to get a simple thank you afterwards, and I failed to perform on stage as a stand-in actor which resulted in the crowd killing me within seconds. Mournhold was not very kind to me.

I decided to travel back to Vvardenfell and work on myself a bit. I leveled up a ton, increased a lot of stats, became quite fast and acrobatic, and am now making potions I can sell for a ton of money. My destruction spells have been getting a bit stronger too. I've stopped relying on my summons so much, but they are still handy for aggro on the occasion that I get outnumbered. I haven't gone back and talked to Caius who is the main quest character that tells you to go get stronger and come back for further instructions, I'm level 11 now so certainly I'm strong enough to continue.

Another person I haven't gone back and talked with yet is the head of the Mage's Guild. I'm not sure if enough time has passed for my expulsion to end, but I've been doing just fine without them. I'll go and get reinstated eventually, but for now I've been traveling all over the island and filling out my map.

One thing I've unexpectedly started focusing on is Acrobatics and Athletics atributes. I play a High Elf, so I think those stats are very low for this race starting out, but gosh I was moving sooo slow when I first started. I am near constantly smashing the Space button while traveling, especially uphill. You level up Acrobatics quite fast so it's easy to keep jumping up mountains to grind that out. Athletics on the other hand require you to run or swim to increase it, and one thing it governs is your Speed skill. I believe I can do the same trick I used to do in Oblivion where you get in the water, swim into a wall, and tie a rubber band around your controller and leave it for a while, but I'd rather not do anything like that this playthrough. I'm not using any cheats or mods that make the experience easier, just changing difficulty if needed.

Where'd you go @Kaamos_Llama ? I want to hear about your COE33 exploits. I'm going to try to get the boss in the second dungeon now.

Sometimes I do a quick check for spam on my phone in between work stuff and family stuff, so you might see me online but sometimes I'm not properly.

Yesterday I got to an island and I beat up a giant angry stone face. Im using Sciel, Verso, and Lune still. Found a couple of Chromatics on the world map before, one wasn't too bad but I gave up on some dancers to come back later.

Those Petanques have been weird for me too, I wonder if you have to stance break it same way as the Mimes to do proper damage to it? Dont think Ive seen that one.

@Kaamos_Llama

I can't believe I won that fight on the second try!

I don't think this picture would be considered a spoiler. Everyone knows you have to face the Paintress.

full

After that fight, I consider it a 50/50 shot to beat the Paintress....ever. I feel putting my tail between my legs and lowering the difficulty upcoming.

I'm hoping there will be a few hours of fighting my way to her.

I played a couple of hours of the Dune Awakening beta. It seems to be a fairly standard multiplayer survival crafting game, though the only other one I've played is Palworld, so I don't have much to compare it to.

In comparison to Palworld, the major advantage is the setting, especially if you already like Dune, and it includes some story elements.

Combat isn't great, but it's functional. It's mostly a third person shooter, though you can use melee as well. Enemy camps reset pretty quickly so you can raid them over and over.

Mobility is pretty good. I started with a grappling hook that allowed me to quickly climb rocks and an anti-gravity grenade that allowed me to jump down without taking falling damage. I don't think every class starts with those, but everyone can climb any rock they see. There are also bikes you can craft, though I didn't get around to it.

Player buildings look like rectangular boxes and are dotted around the landscape, which doesn't look great. It's not terrible, but it would be nice if they blended into the environment a bit more.

I had fun with it in the few hours I played, but I'm not sure how long it would be fun for. I feel like I'd get bored of fighting the same kind of enemies over and over just to grind some resources to upgrade my stuff and then do it all over again. But I only just reached the first human settlement, it's quite possible there is much more to the game.
