Hey Stevie and everyone else! Excited to be part of this amazing community. 🎮 I'm looking forward to sharing my thoughts and learning from all of you! The trophy system is a cool idea – who doesn’t love a little gamification to keep things fun? 😄

As for my intro, I’ve been a huge fan of RPGs since forever, and I can’t wait to dive into the 'What RPG Characters Have You Dated?' thread—talk about some fun stories there!

Mod note. Self promotion will result in warnings and potentially bans.

Greetings Gamers!
Oh, so this is where everyone is.
My name is Allen, I go by anothen (all lower case).
I've been a gamer since about 1997, back in the DOS 4.0 and Windows 3.1 days.
I did a lot of the Star Wars games and was in several communities and clans.
Jedi Knight, Outcast, the space sims ect.
I also played Tachyon the Fringe.
Falcon 4.0
Mostly flight sims and first person shooter.
I slacked off, oh I would guess around 2005 to 2007 because bill gates micro-shafted the
gaming community. I think everything went to x-box, and I never did get one. I put gaming
on pause for several years because none of my games would work anymore.
Lately I've been solo with Descent 2, the D2x version.
I retired last year so I have more time on my hands.
I will try to participate as much as I can.

Hi and welcome!

You can contact PCG at Community@Futurnet.com if you didnt know. Ive been told they might even be able to offer some help with projects they like, and we do have some dev diary type threads here Community Managers have allowed after request. Hopefully you understand why we have to have the self promotion rule in the forum.

Hopefully we see you around :)

Hi. I'm a recent convert to PC gaming from the console side, mainly due to the Steam Deck. It was Skyrim for a while, but my current favorite game is Cyberpunk 2077. I love it so much that I platinumed it on PS4 and PS5 with all the achievements on Steam as well.

Hey everyone!
I'm Yamato from Japan 🇯🇵
I've been a huge gamer for as long as I can remember—especially when it comes to RPGs and action games! I love getting lost in epic stories, leveling up characters, and pulling off those satisfying combat combos 🎮⚔️

Outside of gaming, I work in digital marketing and run a countryside restaurant that serves healthy, gluten-free meals (yeah, real-life side quests 😄).
I'm also into hot springs, cooking, and hanging out with my fluffy Chow Chow dog 🐶

Excited to be here and meet fellow gamers!
Let’s talk games anytime!

Hi I am D00B3RRY and i don't know why i haven't signed up on here sooner, i always used to get the paper magazines in the days when digital alternatives weren't even thought of yet and always remember the excitement of wondering what would be on the CD/DVD that came with it that month. I am a neurodivergent gamer that has a plethora of titles due to not being able to stay focused on just one game.

I hope that my thoughts and ideas can contribute to this community in some way or help others where possible.

My name is “finalis”.
I'm still a beginner in video games, but recently I've started to get into YouTube videos and I'm learning a lot about various games.
There are still many things I don't understand, but I hope to grow while having fun!
I look forward to working with you!

Hey, my name is Suzie, and I have been a gamer for longer than most of you have been alive. That being said, I have had a lot of help building and buying PC's from forums. I won't jump right in with what's wrong with this new build just yet, but it's coming.
First video game I remember playing was King's Quest, then I went into beta testing Zelda.

What's the deal with online forums? You could once get answers to the questions you were looking for. Now they sit unanswered for months or longer.

Depends on the forum I guess. Most hardware questions here get a reply, but sometimes we refer people over to Toms Hardware where theres a lot more technical people.

Theres a core of regulars here, check out the monthly threads or the Coconut Monkey Corner club for general chat.

There's a multitude of reasons. Either people don't want to share, don't know, don't want to help, don't have the time to help further or were stuck under a boulder(life). In any case, it's best to remain patient after creating a thread and if you've done due diligence to solve your own problem after creating a thread, it's courtesy to pass on the solution so someone else in the same boat as you might benefit from it.

However as my colleague above has stated, it depends on the forum/site. The people here although limited are very diligent in trying to assist anyone who shows up with a question. I'm trying to understand which site you've looked at to ask that question.

once.

Forums not the hip thing anymore, people want immediate answers... so discord or reddit or... chatgpt
Many of the people who use forums now do so as they remember them from before... times change. some people are slow to notice... me?

Also can depend on how alive the forum is... you only have two posts here, so clearly you didn't ask on here :)

Its quiet here but its been worse... 5 years ago was fun. The topics are more likely to stay around now, as are the people making the posts.

Hi everyone,

I am delighted to be a part of the PC gamer fraternity and my name is Syed Danish Anwar. I am a married gaming geek with 2 kids hailing from Karachi, Pakistan.

I have been playing video games since 1989, mainly on consoles and PCs. My first ever console was the Atari 2500, which my dad bought me when I was 6 years old. Over the years, I have owned Famicom, Sega, PS1, PS2, PS3, and PS5. I also played games on PCs, with my first gaming PC powered by Nvidia Geforce 2 back in the early 2000s.

Today, I play mostly RPG and action games and also dabble with emulators. My favorite games of all time are Elden Ring and Sekiro, which I played on my PC. I also loved playing Meta Gear Solid (1-4), Uncharted, Resident Evil (RE 0-6 and Veronica X; I didn't like RE 7 and 8 First-Person style), and the classic Final Fantasy series (FF 1-4, 7-10, 12 and 13; I didn't like action oriented FF XV and XVI).

Other favorite games include Top Gear 2 (Sega), Tecmo Cup Soccer Game (Famicom; Captain Robin version), Mario Odyssey (Switch emu), Mario 3D World (Switch emu), Mario 64 (N64 emu), Mario Kart 64, (N64 emu), Donkey Kong (Atari 2500), Pacman (Atari 2500), Street Fighter II (Famicom), Half Life 1 and 2 (PC), Grim Fandango (PC), Red Dead Redemption (PS3), Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (PS5), Tekken 8 (PS5), and Street Fighter 6 (PS5).

Currently, I play games on my PS5 and HP Envy x360 powered by Intel i7 12 gen laptop. I am saving to buy a PC powered by Nvidia 5070 and AMD 5 7600X CPU next year to fully transition to PC-only gaming as I find playing games on PC cheaper and more fun than on consoles due to mods and other stuff.
