Final Fantasy 7 Remake for pc

Hi all.

Do you know if FF7 Remake will be released on pc once the PS exclusive will be over next March? I'm really eager to play this game but I wanna avoid purchasing a PS5 just for one game: nevertheless, it's what I might do if the game won't be released on pc.

I've been waiting for this, too.

What we know is that it will be released for PC after it has been exclusive on PlayStation for one year. We don't know if it will come out one year and one hour after showing up on PS or some months after that. Heck, maybe they will wait for all the episodes to release then give it to us as one big collection with a whole bunch of enhancements and hooks for mod support. (But probably not.)

Also, will there be a PS5 special version? If there is, will the PC be getting that version instead of the PS4 one?

There hasn't been any official news released about this, but I would imagine that the remake will eventually be released for the PC as some kind of ultimate bundle edition, much like they did with Final Fantasy XV. Unfortunately this means that we'll be waiting quite some time for the PC version of Final Fantasy VII Remake. I believe Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition came out roughly 2 years after the PS4 release.

As a huge fan of Final Fantasy VII, I feel your pain 😭

We can safely presume that the game will be released on PC. Both FFVII and FFXV are available on the PC. There's no reason not to bring the Remake to the PC as well. I'm not planning to buy a console just to play one or two games.

There's rumors about a free update to FF7R so that it takes advantage of PS5 hardware but we're not seeing any hype still for any sort of Final Fantasy 7 Remake+ being for sale.

But yeah, also hoping the PC version is one year and five minutes behind the PS5 version.

What WAS relevant was that FF7 Remake won the best narrative award!

Oh, I'm pretty certain its on the way. They were likely aiming for some time soon after the exclusive ends, though COVID could make a mess of that.

Probably a good time to bump this thread but considering that Kingdom Hearts 3 is heading to PC thanks to Epic Games commissioning such a port, there might actually be a PC version at all. Hopefully, it'll coincide with Intergrade's PS5 release.

Sony announced that some new PS exclusives will be coming on PC. There are rumors about God of War, Bloodborne, Ghost of Tsushima and Uncharted 4. So no FF7R as of now, but I still believe that the game will come to PC in the future.

The one year anniversary passed weeks ago and still not a peep. The PS5 version is scheduled for June 10 so maybe then?

I sure hope so. Or maybe they'll wait until the whole trilogy is out.

Suppose i should bump this thread due to a leak from a few weeks back mentioning FF7R on an Epic Games database. Earliest we'll be able to hear from this would likely be December due to Sony's exclusivity renewal, though if i'm being realistic, it'll probably be longer because Square-Enix likely has other projects that take higher priority than accepting a bribe from Tim Sweeney.

It was announced I think weeks if not a full month prior to Intergrade's PS5 release. Officially, this exclusivity deal should end on December but unofficially, time spent on a PC port of FF7R is likely time not spent on FFXVI and future FFXIV content.

maybe it's a waste for just one game, but if you're happy with it and also have its own advantages maybe it's much better

There was a petition. It's called Trials of Mana. It didn't get enough signatures though. Only reason why Square-Enix is still making PC games is due to a contractual obligation with Epic Games.

With some hope, we may find the FF7 remake on the EGS in December.
