DP to DP or DP to HDMI? What is the best?

Hello,

I would like to find the best cable for a present, I am not a gamer myself but it's for a surprise...

So, to make it short, the question: for a best resolution, is it better to use a cable DP to HDMI (knowing the monitor has only HDMI 1,4 and such a cable says "4K @ 60 Hz", or a cable DP to DP (1.4), knowing the monitor has a DP 1.2 port) and the cable says "4K @ 144 Hz".

FYI

the monitor is a Asus TFU Gaming VG24VQR, with 2 HDMI 1.4 port (48 - 144 Hz) and 1 DP 1.2 port (48-168 Hz).
The processor is AMD Ryzen 5 5600
The graphic card is a Gygabite RTX 4060 Gaming OC 8GD
The memory sticks Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4 2X16 Gb
The mothercard is MSI A 520 M A-PRO

DP to DP would probably be the best as then you can use G Sync on the monitor. Its not supported on HDMI.

Thank you. I tried this option and my son loves it! It gave him even more than expected, reaching the full capacity of his monitor!

I have a coupple of customers who run DP-HMDI cables and i find them to often cause allot more troubble than just HDMI or DP cables do so i try to avoid them when ever i can.
