Another TMNT game I gotta get? Sign me up!
I vote for Dwarf Fortress. This is up for a vote, right?Well with christmas drawing near and with only Path of Exile (1) installed, i need to think of a game to play over december and january to ring in the new year.
Game Pass now asks you what folder you want your games in. I think you can just choose your Steam folder.Xbox games on Win 10 are installed in virtual drives so that could be one reason they in a different location.
Other thing is I don't think you can install non steam games in its directories. I guess you could but it would get confusing, especially as Steam games can be reused on new installs, the Xbox ones can't.
I have Steam & Microsoft games in 2 different locations... most people would.

Not sure win 11 uses the virtual drives method. Never noticed one show up... I would need to play a game I guess for it to make it? hmm One day.
I didn’t do a whole lot of research but it seems most of the first person mods require you to downgrade, which you can using the guide but the basic version of the instructions don’t require it. However I found this cheat mod Liberty Trainer that has a first person mode that’s fairly well done. It requires a few more steps like downloading ScriptHookIV but it’s all quick and simple. You may want to run the game first after completing the guide before installing the trainer just to be safe.Good to know. It took me something like two days to mod KOTOR 2 last I did it. Think I'll give it a go on Steam Deck when I'm next feeling like some GTA again; but I may need a first person mod if one is not included.
it probably lets you put it in almost any folder. Whether its a smart idea due to re usability is another question.Game Pass now asks you what folder you want your games in. I think you can just choose your Steam folder.
I agree, as good as the show is, the game is the best way to experience it. If you're a gamer, at least.I liked the series quite a lot, but I actually think the game tells the story better. Now just waiting for them to port part 2!
@red_5ive That email site is hilarious. Exactly my kind of humor. There is a series of books called "Letters from a Nut" that are absolutely some of the most hilarious books I've ever read.
I'd wager money, the emails guy got the idea from reading the letters from a nut dude, which a lot of people speculated was written by Jerry Seinfeld. I'll check out the emails book for sure.I thought that would be right up your alley. I was bummed when he stopped posting his stories, but I still visit every so often when I feel like a good laugh. It was actually published, too! I happened upon it at Barnes & Noble some years ago, shortly after he stopped posting, which I'm sure is why he stopped being that there is more content in the book and obviously copyright (and I'm sure he'd rather people give him money). I do want to pick it up. It'd make a perfect coffee table book.
Edit: I tried posting a link a few times, but looks like the site filter keeps picking it up and removing it as the URL contains profanity. If you're interested you can find it on Amazon as Emails from an A**hole: Real People Being Stupid by John Lindsay.
Thanks for the link. That sounds vaguely familiar. I'm always in for a laugh, and I added it to my Christmas list.

Been playing Gloomhaven a bit to try and get a feel for some other characters. The real life campaign Ive been playing with a couple of friends is quite far in, onto my second character. There are a lot of moving parts in that game and it quite often makes me feel stupid when I forget rules and mechanics so it makes me want to play more. The rules of the base version on Epic seem to be slightly different, but quite likely its just confusing me in a lot of ways.
Its a turn based tactical card RPG game, where you go dungeon diving in a campaign set around the town of Gloomhaven. You start with a set of around 10 cards depending on character and you have to choose 2 abilities to use each turn after which they are discarded. The cards are either ranged or melee attacks, moves, buff or debuff. Each card has a top and bottom ability and you can only use one from the top and one from the bottom of the set you choose each turn. Each card also has an initiative number which dictates turn order and you are blind to what the enemy and your team are doing each round before choosing. When the cards are used they are discarded. Once you have discarded all your cards you have to rest at which point you lose 1 card permanently for that run and get the others back, once your down to 1 card you are exhausted and out of the scenario. The strongest abilities are one time use per run only and for my current character depend a lot on having certain 'elements' on the board which you have to generate with other abilities the previous turn. Theres more, like limited use items you can buy from a shop that block damage or enhance abilities, but basically a lot of variables and rng to consider as well as synergies between abilities of your own and the other players.
If it sounds like a lot, it is for me at least. My friends seem to have more of a handle on it but they have played a campaign before and are also smarter than me
I have an Elementalist at level 4 now in the board game, and I started out as a Savvas Cragheart but completed my world goal of killing a demon of each element and retired it.
Alas dwarf fortress is not in my collection. But i wouldn't mind playing it. Not going to play the free edition as that looks impenetrable. i might try and dig into my Epic store games and play one of those . Might try and cross off a few indie games, but man... POE i think i'm addicted to POE atm keep calling me to play it again.

I havent seen Romulus yet but it will turn up somewhere soon and Ill check it out.I agree, as good as the show is, the game is the best way to experience it. If you're a gamer, at least.
And speaking of the show, I watched Alien: Romulus with my son last night, who is also a big Last of Us fan, both the game and the show. Not to discredit Bella Ramsey who is great as Ellie, but my son commented how perfect the actress (Cailee Spaeny) in Alien: Romulus would have been for Ellie. I agree, she even kinda talks/sounds like her.
We were playing kind of monthly but now we all have a bit more time its gone to weekly. I have no idea what exactly is happening in the story apart from we are generally trying to be the good guys. Was feeling quite dumb after I picked up the Elementalist for a couple sessions but Ive worked out some strategies that seem OK. Good that I played Cragheart to start with as it was a really good intro into using elements and had a little of everything. I managed to complete the career goal a bit too quickly though and only made it to level 3 before retirement.I love Gloomhaven. I had a real life game going with my wife and a friend of ours for quite a while. We finished the main campaign, but I think we've only done about half of all of the missions. I also started with a Cragheart, it was a lot of fun using the environment to do tons of damage. My wife got bored of it though, so I haven't played in well over a year and I don't think we'll ever continue playing. I don't even remember which character I was playing last.
My only hope is to indoctrinate my kid to love board games and hope she'll bring over friends who want to play as well. Should only take somewhere between 6 to 12 years.

You might want to try Rimworld as an easier entry into the colony manager genre.
The Steam version is still pretty impenetrable. Someday though, I'll get into it.
But as @Pifanjr said, RimWorld is a very nice alternative. I vote you make a list of games you have and are intrigued by and we'll vote 😋
Don't have rim world either. its something i want to play, just haven't gotten round to buying it tbh. i was hoping to snap everything in one neat bargain but i doubt we'll see the last of rimworld. Maybe one day i'll give it a shot.
I'm usually not so indecisive when it comes to what to pick, but playing multiple games in multiple genres has seriously messed up my methodology. As some of you recall, my process is usually the date i bought the game, the genre i haven't played for a while, whether its indie or aaa and finally whatever i feel like. With so many games to choose and the speed i finish them its left me unsated and uncertain.
The genre that i haven't played recently is a puzzle game... but i'll be buggered if i want to play that over christmas. besides i finished a puzzle game on the vita so i'm in no mood to play another atm.
RPGs are a bit of a odd situation POE is sort of catering for that and my vita i'm playing trails of cold steel so i'm not entirely in the mood to play one. besides, i would classify them as big game projects so won't play them over christmas especially when i have friends and family over.
What about a management sim? don't have too many of those and its been a while (the last was arcade tycoon). but that takes time to get good and enjoyable. Same with survival sims.
I could go on a while breaking down what to play, i just need to figure out the problem and just find the right game to solve it. i could just go sod it, grab a game and start playing. But i would like to look at my more neglected games and play them. i could play something from the ubi soft collection but i have plans to play AC:Valhalla sometime next year.
