Let's appreciate beautiful games.

From the obvious picks like Witcher 3

to less obvious picks like Divinity Original Sin 2

Or perhaps more stylized games like Darkest Dungeon

All is free to post as long as it tickles one of your aesthetic senses.

So go ahead and show us good looking games. ^^

Uhhh, do you want any "images per post" limits or limits on storage size? Otherwise, I'm liable to blow away somebody's download caps. It will take me some time to arrange a kickback deal with the major ISPs so no rush on an answer. ;)

In the meantime... something old (Asheron's Call)

And here's one from Skyrim I posted on the previous forums in the screenshot contest. Got an honorable mention for it! Here's the cross-eyed 3D version for people with 3D Vision. I expect VR headsets are probably able to view these things properly, too, by now.

They're dated now of course but there are several older games that had graphics and scenery that I had to just stop and admire. First one I can remember is Halo 2 when you first land on Halo and walk out of the escape pod.... You have a gorgeous landscape all around you with a blue sky and of course you can see the Halo as it in the sky. And to top it all off the music playing in the background (Heavy Price Paid on the soundtrack) is just superb. First time I was there I spent several minutes just looking around.

Other scenes would be in Bio-Shock multiple times just staring out the windows, definitely Crysis 1 when the sun first comes up and you're looking out from on top of a ridge. Crysis 3 when you first walk out of the subway with Psycho into New York and see the city overgrown with vegetation.

Another one is Mass Effect 3 on Palaven's moon.... Seeing the Reapers off in the distance and seeing Palaven literally on fire in the sky.... Every time I play ME3 I always take my time on this mission to admire the scenery and landscapes.

First Light. That was the start of a new age for computer graphics, ending the "Doom Age" that started back in `93.

(Then that boat came and shot me up - which kinda spoiled the mood.)

A couple more. Check the resolution out! Ah, the old CRT days...

My screenshots library goes as far back as 2011, when Skyrim was first released. Can you believe it's been well over 8 years since that game first launched? It feels like yesterday somehow. Anyway, I'll share some of my favourites from over the years down below:

Out of all of them, I think I might like that Legend of Grimrock 2 shot the best. It seems powerful and threatening in a way, eliciting an emotion from me like other screenshot I ever made has managed to do.

I'm really enjoying Forza Horizon 4 right now. It is one of the best looking games I've ever played!

The infinity engine games have aged better than they should have purely on the strength of the backdrops.
This just goes to show how enduring a good art style can be.
Everyone talks about The Witcher 3 as being a beautiful game (which it is, no doubt) but the Witcher 2 was just as good looking in many aspects.
I agree! The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition holds up really well. It's still a great looking game.
