Question Advice Needed for Switching Between Computers on Single Monitor

I currently dock my MacBook Air to a monitor via HDMI - DisplayPort cable and am looking to do my first gaming pc build later this year. I would like to utilize the same peripherals but am not sure what hardware I need to switch between computers. Any tips?

What/how many ports does your monitor have?
If it's just that one, you'll just need to switch the cable between your macbook and PC every time.
Otherwise, you can use one port per machine, and just toggle the display source via your monitor.

hi i found this for you

How to Connect Two or More Computers to One Monitor (online-tech-tips.com)

I knew it was possible because a security man at a firm i worked for was accused of downloading porn during work so he too a spare pc of his own into the cabin , set up the gear and only used the companies pc if he had to , the company could not stop him doing it because he was on contract from a well know security firm and not directly employed by the firm he was posted at.
This is exactly what I needed. Thanks for the link!
