Your thoughts on using a wireless mouse "wired"..

According to reviewers, it seems all the top gaming mice these days are wireless. They must also support 8k polling... I've bought a half dozen or more of these highly rated mice over the past 2 years. All of these wireless mice can be used while plugged in with it's USB cable.

It just kind of struck me that wouldn't I be better off or get the absolute best response time just using these mice plugged in? I have a mouse bungee so it's not like I have struggles with the wire when playing a multiplayer FPSer.

considering none are slower when plugged in, I feel the wireless is more a convenience. Its a choice. Main reason I use one is the distance I am from PC makes it easier than using an extension cord or a USB hub

Its cheaper to buy a non wireless mouse if you plan on using it plugged in, there is slightly less latency with wired as well. Its not a massive difference as wireless has caught up. The wired mice can also be lighter as no battery to deal with.

Can actually have rgb on wired mice as its not a drain on a battery, unlike wireless. If that matters. My Aerox 5 runs out of charge real quick if I leave rgb on. As does my keyboard.

Why so many mice in such a short time? When I replaced my last mouse last year I already felt like it was too soon as had only bought previous a few years before.

I'm having a hard time finding a wireless mouse that gives stats for when it's plugged in, but it makes sense that it would be very slightly better. I actually am using a mouse this way, but only because they didn't offer a wired version.

One thing you need to know, however, is that in order to update your firmware on a wireless mouse, you usually need to have the USB dongle plugged in, so don't lose track of it or throw it away.

I just became a mouse junky and enjoy collecting them over the many years of trying to get the perfect aim. I also go through a lot of mouse pads.

I have fond memories of playing BF1942 with a Logitech MX310. I could flick and take out just a moving pixel (all I could see of an enemy soldier they were so far away) on the other side of the map or canyon. Those days are over. As I get older, I now find that nothing is working, I assume its because reflexes, eyes and/or brain deteriorate/get slower.

Zed, that's what I've found odd. No one that I can find has tested these mice plugged in or unplugged considering they can be used either way. I was totally against wireless mice for the longest time. I finally caved when they kept showing up as best gaming mice.

I guess I could do my own amateur tests using aiming labs but I'd rather spend the time playing games than running mouse aiming and comparison tests over and over.

Thanks for commenting Colif and Zed and just an FYI, currently sitting on my desk and in rotation, Razer Cobra Pro, Fnatic X MAYA Lamzu 8k, Scyrox V8, and Pulsar X2 Crazylight used on a LGG Saturn Pro mouse pad.

I'm currently on the hunt for the best mud pad hoping it will fix my micro misses in TAC FPS.

Good luck. I'm not going to recommend anything because the mouse I would recommend is going for $250 right now, and I don't want to be responsible for anyone spending that much for a mouse, particularly when 99 percent of the time the problem is the player, not the mouse

Jupp, I bought the Shroud (very good CSGO and overall FPS player) Logitech G Pro Wireless, which is not the cheapest mouse out there and I still suck at shooting

I did that 20 years ago, when I was bored I would buy a new logitech mouse just for a change. Been mostly stuck on one brand now for about 15 years. Not logitech... though I did try one of these just to see what I had missed... not a lot.

Logitech mice aren't the best for gaming
