I tried installing windows 10 on my old laptop and after the restart that happens during the instalation windows wouldn't boot up. Windows installation cannot proceed. to install windows click OK to restart the computer and then restart the installation] appeared I tried reinstalling but nothing happened the laptop had windows 7 before

Your harddrive settings in bios might need to be changes from ACHI to SATA ide mode. Grasping a little here, but if it worked fine under Windows 7, sounds more driver related.
