Question Windows 10

I tried installing windows 10 on my old laptop and after the restart that happens during the instalation windows wouldn't boot up. The text [the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. to install windows click OK to restart the computer and then restart the installation] appeared I tried reinstalling but nothing happened the laptop had windows 7 before

Your harddrive settings in bios might need to be changes from ACHI to SATA ide mode. Grasping a little here, but if it worked fine under Windows 7, sounds more driver related.
