Okay, so I'm gonna write my history and make the hardest decisions ever.

PS1/PS2 > GBA/SNES/N64 > GameCube > DS/PSP > PC > Nintendo Wii U > PS3 > PC > Nintendo Switch

The below is not in any order.

Slay the Spire
Full Metal Furies
Smash Ultimate
Sonic Adventure 2: Battle
Heroes of the Storm

I don't own a PS4. I played my brother's PS4 for like one day. I really wanna play God of War, because I think it's a good contender for my all-time favorites list.

I'll play, I've never actually pieced it all together for myself and it'll be fun :)

Favourite games though? Too many to count and if I name some I'll only realize that I've missed some huge ones later one. I've been into almost everything at some point and I'm open to almost anything given the right time place and mood.

70's: Atari 2600, Apple 2+
80's: More Apple, Atari 800XL, Atari ST. Online gaming starts on the GEnie network.
90's: IBM Clones. I tried hard to avoid Windows but OS/2 Warp and linux but those partitions just got set up then left unused. Online falls away again until the very end.
00's: Windows, lots of online gaming.
10's: Windows. Online gaming done.
20's: Windows.

I got a PS/2 and an XBox 360 and played some games on them but mostly used them as something to do while on the exercise bike. (These days I just read.)

All time favorite list really is hard just because there's so much to remember. I think I'll muse over it for a while.

70's - generic tv games
80's - Tandy Colour computer, Nintendo SNES, SEGA Megadrive
90's - continuation of SNES/Megadrive, N64, right at end an IBM PC (Celeron 300, voodoo 2 (I think))
00 - AMD Duron PC, AMD Athlon PC, Intel dual core PC - Nintendo Shift in there somewhere
10's PlayStation 3 & 4, I5 Intel 4690k PC
20's AMD 3600xt pc

games (no particular order
Diablo 2
Journey
Sacred 2
Torchlight 2
Super Metroid
Test Drive Unlimited 2

notices all but one are sequels, and most of those sequels had a worse version 3 - tdu3 doesn't exist. I don't know, never played the GameCube version of Metroid.

I never played God of War so I can't help with decision.

Yeah, arcades! Drove for miles to play Star Wars, Joust, and maybe Demon Attack if they had it.

All time favorites, as in most enjoyment (sum of enjoyment per second over time, so good, long games win out over great, short games) I've gotten out of games (your mileage will vary, especially if you try playing older ones):
  • Air Warrior (multiplayer flight simulator from back in the late 80's and early 90's)
  • The X series from Egosoft, with X4 beating out X3:TC.
  • The Witcher 3
  • Doom
  • City of Heroes/Villains
  • Skyrim
  • BattleTech
  • Final Fantasy 7
  • The Last Remnant (weak story but I really loved the battle system)
  • Civilization series, with 5 as my favorite.

Pole Position, @JCgames? Nah, this sounds a lot more advanced.

I don't remember Ikari Warriors or Super Sprint, but I sure remember Dig Dug. Dragon's Lair cost double and I always died pretty early so I considered it a rip off - more fun to watch other people play it.

Dragons lair was more about knowing the patterns than being an actual game, I never liked it.

I can remember doing the trick in Galaga that stops the enemies from firing for the entire game, we left the high score on 000020 meaning people following thought they could beat top score with 20 points but not so much. Shame store turned machine off each night as that score didn't last long.
I can remember a friend could finish Gyrus on his 1st turn, not overly exciting to watch upside down (we played on a sit down table cabinet )… local shop would get a new Arcade game every few months and we would compete to complete them.

it doesn't feel that long ago...
