What mouse do you use?

They don't make any Sensei mice now so driver support would be a reason I wouldn't buy any of them now. Sure, they might keep supporting them... I don't know how long they support discontinued products as I have never used one.

Rivals all have same shape so i knew what to expect. No weights in that one, thats about main difference I think between it and one I have... mine didn't have the trigger at the front.

it had removable sides though

mainly to insert the weights but it was always fine without them.

The side buttons on yours look like the ones on my aerox 5

I haven't tried to use any of them. The top one is a flickable button, it reacts up/down but I can use a mouse for 5 years and never use the side buttons. I see in browsers it acts as forwards/backwards but after 25 years it would require thought to use mouse buttons instead of scrolling to top and clicking the key
Front button probably just be ignored as well.
Maybe I was too used to how a mouse worked before they started adding all these extra keys.
I can remember the time before mice existed... okay before I saw my first one anyway. They weren't always there.
Glad we don't use ball mice anymore.

I remember having to take the ball out of the mouse and clean the dust off of it.

I've been using mice as long as you have, so I don't think you just aren't used to them. You've just never had a good reason to use them. For me, they are much easier than taking my hand off of the mouse in games in order to press "M" for map, "J" for journal or "I" for inventory, etc. so I usually set the mouse's extra buttons to M/J/I. But the SteelSeries software makes it extremely easy to have a different set-up for every game, and when you launch the game, it automatically changes to the right set-up. For Total War games, I just have one button set to the <home> key because that moves the map back to your capital.

I'll take your word on the Sensei over Google's AI. It told me they were still making the 10. I'm going to go buy a couple, then. Should last me awhile so long as Windows doesn't do something weird and they don't get an update.

I still use https://www.logitechg.com/en-us/shroud-edition.html. It is important to get the Shroud version because then you'll be as accurate as him in FPS games. It is wireless and got insane battery life, so that is a big plus for me.
Hey, I'm as accurate as Shroud. It just takes me 5 minutes to wait until the person stands still and to line up my shot. But after that short delay, I'm very accurate.

Every time I link a reasonable product, you link something 4X more expensive (at the least). Going to start referring to you as Mr. Moneybags

I didn't look at price. I just looked for an actual trackball, or what I see as one. The mouse with a trackball is just a shortcut
Yeah, your link is what I remember, but I'm actually a little curious about the mouse ones. If I hadn't bought a half-dozen mice this week, I might have gotten one. I'll get around to it at some point. But it's going to be like the track pad on the Steam controller. I won't be good with it.

god I feel bad enough buying one this year after buying a new one so recently. Its like fans... I bought too many. Spent too much fixing this PC in the last few months. Trying to save for the next one.
