What do you keep your mouse DPI at for shooters. Is it different for different types of games?

It's a muddy area. Most has to do with how it feels to you and that can vary from game to game as each game can have its own sensitivity sliders that increase/decrease at different levels.

There is, unfortunately, no one-size-fits-all setup. You're ultimately going to find what you feel is best and then adjust each game's sensitivity to match.

I haven't noticed much variation from game to game, but the games I play almost never have sensitivity sliders. I did play a demo during Next Fest where just barely moving the mouse caused you to do a 360, but adjusting my mouse didn't have an effect on it, and it didn't have a slider, so I just gave up. I wouldn't use sensitivity sliders anyway. I'd make a new profile in my mouse software and change it there. That way I wouldn't have to change anything every time I played the game, as the software recognizes what game you are playing and just pulls up the profile for that game.

Honestly i stick to just one setting and its 4000dpi. Sure, i can change it on the fly, hell i have a trigger thing that reduces the sensitivity without needing to increase/decrease it.

The only problem is that the designers made that flappy thing too short, so my thumb never makes use of it... Plus changing the sensitivity hasn't done me any favors for any game. Shame really.

Another factor is your mousepad space. If you have a huge desk pad, lower DPI feels better. But for most setups, something in the 1000-1600 range is the most versatile.
