Is there a sequel to The Sims 5, before The Sims 4?

its only series where the earlier games seem to have more in them that later ones. Expecting 5 to just be a launcher and you have to buy everything else.
How can they make a sequel to 5 that comes before 4? thats not how sequels work. Prequels, yes... 3 of them in fact.

Your question makes me think of this movie.
If you're as old as I am, you might remember the Missing in Action movies from the 80s, starring Chuck Norris. The cool thing about those movies is that the first one, Missing in Action, took place after Missing in Action 2. So I guess it's possible that The Sims 3 might be a sequel to The Sims 5. 😆
