My PC just did something very strange. I restarted the PC, but the screen stayed black. After disconnecting it from the power and restarting, it booted into a completely different BIOS called AMIBIOS. Another restart fixed the issue, and the PC booted up normally. What just happened?

Operating System: Windows 11

GPU: MSI RTX3080

PSU Corsair RMX Series, RM850x, 850 Watt

, it booted into a completely different BIOS called AMIBIOS.
shame you didn't take a photo, how was it different to the normal bios?

Not sure who makes BIOS on Asus boards, could be American Megatrends
nvm, seems AMI aren't American Megatrends

I know Asus use Aptio on their laptops which AMI makes.

no idea what happened. Could be a one off, my PC does strange things occasionally. Only really a concern if it keeps happening

If I had to guess without seeing anything, some setting caused issues (thus BSOD) and BIOS reverted the changes or went to the default values and then it worked because, well, it's on default values.

Check your configuration, if you had OC running, RAM profiles etc.
