Steam Spring Sale 2025

I would buy something, but I'm saving my money so I can buy influence in the post apocalyptic world that should be arriving any moment now.

But if I were to buy something, it might be Crusader Kings III for $14.99 or Solium Infernum for $19.99

there are a few interesting games i would like to buy. But again nothing essential must buy for me. i think atm its indie adventure games perhaps, but i'm also seeing the same deals from before. might be best to wait a bit.
Supposedly the summer sale is better, at least that's what people tell me, but there's no guarantee you'll get better prices. Maybe you should check one of those sites that lists the historic lows.

I scrolled through the deep discounts for a bit, but there wasn't anything interesting for me.

Sort of on an apocalyptic theme I just picked up Shadows of The Forbidden Gods because it looks weird as hell.

I've played the demo, it is indeed weird as hell. I think the closest game to it I've played is Crusader Kings 2, but it's even less intuitive and a lot less polished.

Eeesh, Terra Invicta is still in early access! That's the game from the folks that made the Long War mod for XCom.

One of my friends already has 315 hours in it. He wrote a positive review at 135 hours that just said "I'm still on my first playthrough."

XCOM 2 is 95% off now by the way.

I haven't made up my mind if I want to get something. I'm still playing Pirate Yakuza, but I'm considering getting something to play after I'm done with that. Here's a few things I'm eyeing right now:

The Pedestrian (75% off $4.99)
Not For Broadcast (75% off $6.24)
HROT (50% off $9.99)
Spider-Man (50% off $29.99)
God of War (50% off $19.99)
Judgement (70% off $11.99)
Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew (50% off $19.99)
En Garde! (60% off $7.99)

Probably a bunch more. I have no idea what I would get, but I've really been wanting to play these games for a while.

I loved HROT, though I still haven't finished the final episode. It reminds me of a mix between Quake and Chasm: The Rift (which I think originally ran on Doom or Build Engine? Correct me if I'm wrong), it's pretty great. The guns and environments are quite fun and the game can be pretty damned challenging.

I was thinking about Robocop for $10, as well as a few other games, but I'm failing so hard right now at not spending money. I bought Blood West a couple weeks ago and have played it for like 30 minutes, but I do want to go back. So, much as I would like to buy something, I'm doing my best to abstain.

That said, one game did catch my eye, so I added the demo to my library. I doubt I'll buy it right now, given the aforementioned, but also the $13 can go towards the new album my favorite band just released today.

Also just saw that Ostfront is on deep discount; very much worth it for under $4. The Airborne DLC is really good too, still working my way through that.

Thanks! I was casually trying to remember the name of that game, but all I could remember was Bobby Two Hands.
The unforgettable Bobby.

Looks worth a punt for me at 7, been on the wishlist for a bit.
The aforementioned Solium Infernum looks a little non-traditional, too.

Yea I had kind of written Solium Inferno off a bit as a demonic skinned Civ clone, but it seems there might be a bit more of something interesting there from what people are saying about it.

I was excited for Terra Invicta, but after all these years theyre going to have to rehype me up a bit. Still interested though.

For the most part i've been sniffing around on my wishlist and in gg.deals but whilst there are plenty of historical lows, most of them aren't low enough for my liking. So i sift through the offers and bide my time.

been looking through various games and whilst there are a few indie games that i would like, nothing that screams must buy immediately. They're indie games and the price seems to be the same as last time or i can wait as the price will come around for summer or when i'm ready.

But let see what (indie) games have caught my eye:

- The Joe Richardson bundle - i will probably want to get the first 2 games (the death of reprobate is a little too expensive for my liking.) But again, my concern is how long these games will last and whether i can justify the cost for them.

- Mindscanners - papers please style game

- Crosscode complete edition - its for less then £7 but the price rolls around often so i can wait.

- Underrail complete edition for a tenner - mighty tempting. But not ready to play. So i'll postpone that one.

- Passpartout: the starving artist - For less then 3 quid its nice, but again, not getting it yet.

- Red Tape - it looks interesting but it doesn't feel like its going to be keep be going for long. its 27 sections. Can't keep me busy for that long

- Thats not my neighbor - another papers please like game. Again, no idea how long it will keep me entertained for the price.

Still have time, but at this point i'm probably not going to buy anything this time.

You and @Zloth need to start an "hours per penny" club :ROFLMAO:

With Red Tape being $2.39 and That's Not my Neighbor at $1.79, it's hard to imagine any cheaper form of entertainment that doesn't involve consuming ads. But if they don't seem like a good value to you at those prices, I just have to assume you're only mildly interested in them, so it makes sense not to waste money.

Thanks for the list. Passpartout has been something I've wanted to try for awhile. I'm only a tiny fraction of the artist you are, but I enjoy painting anyway.

I was going to link you to a similar game that isn't heavily narrative-based because they used to have a demo, and I figured "free" might be good, but I went to their Steam page, and they took the demo down, probably because it no longer was a good representation of the game :(

Here's a link to the game anyway:

Edit: I just realized their snippet in that link makes it sound like you just buy art from someone else and sell it, but you actually paint your own art to sell. I suppose you can eventually buy from someone else, but the demo didn't go that far.

i think the games are on the "would be nice" to have but whether i get round to playing them i'm not sure. My arbitrary design making prevents me from buying it. Its not going to break the bank, but i would like to stop buying so many games. But... its so cheap damn it.

I would like to buy an arty game and flex my art muscles but whether i get to play it any time soon is another story. That said, most of the indie games are quick to finish so maybe i can play/complete a whole load in quick succession. But right now Asscreed Valhalla is eating all my time...

Well, if you do decide to flex those art muscles, make sure you post some on here and let me know about it :)

I might try SuchArt again. It has the best tools, although sometimes it feels like I'm playing Surgeon Simulator when I get paint all over the place due to physics.

i've been a bit quite on the art front tbh, i'm in practice mode learning to draw horses. I figured it would broaden add some much needed variety to my artwork. With horses i can start rendering Cavalry.... So far we're still in the anatomy stages, haven't started looked into horse riding horse gear yet. It might be a couple of years at the pace i paint and learn.

I need to get more into my VR library. I have SuchArt along with Half Life Alyx, two games called Maestro, and a bunch of others. I think the only VR game I've finished on Steam is Deemo Reborn (which I highly recommend).

Anyway, I purchase one game in the spring sale (the second Maestro game) and something hit me and said that's it. I'm not buying anymore games until I finish the ones I want to finish, and there are many. I even took the drastic measure of deleting every item on my wishlist.

We'll see where I am at the end of the year. Hopefully I'll spend more hours learning music than playing games, but we'll see.
