this cute little thing is/was meant to be a portal at end of a dungeon. It didn't work... lucky game remembered my progress

the comments on weapons aren't as silly as Torchlight

Path of Exile has led to other games having truly insane trees

worst part is following a build without any screenshots of the skill tree

Massive game, uses 1.5gb of ram while playing.

One fight I really didn't have to do much, with 3 clones doing most of my fighting, this witch army was overkill

I just run around collecting things.
Its only the boss fights that are a pain. One I haven't done yet is more pattern recognition than a damage affair.
Another one I died from a seemingly unblockable attack. not sure how I survived it the second time

I did my usual trick, start again but this time I found some of the skills I had missed first time around. She didn't have the problem with the unblockable attack as her minions stun locked the boss so hard it never cast that move. Some of the skills I missed on 1st mage really were needed.

this is more a stat stick than a weapon. It keeps me alive, just as well my minions do the damage. Its output is pretty low compared to others.

Now up to a scarecrow boss, he more pattern recognition than sheer output. Might try him later.

Pattern recognition guy not so hard, now onto a grind as I need to be a much higher level than I am currently. Need to do 3 trials and need to be lvl 50 just to finish the first one... and 75 to complete second

I have to spend time doing expeditions which are random dungeons. Think I am in an interlude. Story continues after 3 trials which are essentially the rest of the game.

later: almost finished trial part 1, I only have to upgrade an item to lvl 6 and do the final part now. I got to lvl 50 and then found I needed to charge my controller. Was getting tired anyway.

I don't play any games for 18 months and the moment I do mum gets annoyed that I waste all my time playing games... um... hello? I can't win with her. What is point of having a gaming PC if I can't play games on it.

Some staffs can evolve, this is one of them

But I don't know what level it evolves at. I got it to lvl 39 trying as I am curious what it becomes... apart from a staff
Its damage is still 0 - Its just as well my clones do all the damage, although I did die using it... should have known better than to take on a boss.

Seems it evolves at lvl 58, i might do that tomorrow. I just took it into easier areas

There is a staff of necromancy (obviously) but you only get one assistant. I want a staff that makes my clones move with me... but that would be op.

The one in pink is my clones, I tend to stack them up - I should have 3 of them but i recently discovered I only had 2 which was probably part of why I died earlier. You can only have so many skills active but you get more points to spend than active skills so you max all skills out and get a damage percentage of the points spent as damage. I mistakenly had the wrong skills active and was missing a clone.

The balls spin around them as a sort of defence.
They do all of my damage, I just cast them into the right spots in combat since they can't move.

The blue ghost is Bryan, he goes poisoned at start of game and I acting as his revenger upon the ones who killed him., Not sure if resurrection is on the cards

The trials are end game. I didn't realise it but I finished story a day ago ... mostly. Only thing left in story is kill one boss but you need to complete the trials to face him.

Its all instances from here on. Just like Diablo 4 is

Guess it explains why the trials are so comprehensive, it is the rest of the game. Not sure what I was expecting from such a small game.

Means I should go find a better build but I don't mind letting clones do most of it now.

Easy to spend large amounts of gold and not notice... upgrading gear is expensive.

I worked out I can hold shoot button down but auto fire is slower than pressing. It is helpful on the huntress as you constantly firing.

I am legion, although only 2 of me so far

some weapons have 3 evolutions, this one and one a few others have 5.

Lvl 63. Maybe I try the endless dungeon tomorrow. Still haven't worked it out yet.

I played my rogue/huntress for a while today, not sure how melee works when she only gets bows.
This doesn't even seem like same character

this one suits my build. I was wondering what she could do while clones killed everything, her staff can help

Every class has about 120 weapons they can get, but many of them are evolutions and every one has a Primordial version which is even stronger. So final count for all classes is about 240 weapons each.

I thought I was going well with one character but I am really only started... getting the basic versions is only the beginning. Not all weapons evolve, although the screen that lists them all will show a link to the next reaper if it does.

For instance, the top reaper here has 6 evolutions but its the only one I have that has that many. Most of that page don't evolve into another staff, other pages are better for that. Evolutions don't replace previous species of reaper.

I am missing the Primordial reaper tab but as I am still unsure how to upgrade them to Primordial I won't worry about it yet. The weapon o dex includes all three classes so there aren't 15 pages of just Staffs.
You get them via the Great Forge AKA the endless dungeon. I am still a little hazy about what I need to do to upgrade them? Hard to find clear info on game... google search and watching videos appears to be only answer.

Also, when I say 240, they aren't different entirely. They are different versions of the same effects. So there is a sword, Staff and Bow of Unity, for instance. One of the shops in town lets you make any weapon you have found the alternative of, If I play long enough I will get to that process, I just lack the mats. So me finding all the Staffs might pay off for the Knight or Huntress later on.

Two weapons that make boss fights more interesting

this one is obvious, started life as a Staff of the Giant slayer and evolved. The last two paragraphs are what make it evolved. Originally it was just good against bosses, now its everything

Elites aren't really hard, just have more life and take longer to burn down mostly. This one makes them like everyone else and in combo with one below it, makes you look for them.

The second one uses a drop that normally comes from bosses against them.

This one wasn't a drop, I had to buy it. Its also different as its damage can be increased by increasing the amount I can hold of Elder Slorm so it is easier to make better than most of them

Elder Slorm is also needed to enter two of the three dungeon types that I have to use in end game. And the price of admission increases depending how hard you want to make it. You need to increase the amount you can carry before you can do the harder ones, so its not just a waste of Slorm

The staff with the hightest DPS is called "The most powerful" but its a joke as it only has DPS, it doesn't have any writing underneath so unlike every other staff, it doesn't do anything extra - just makes a big number

Stage 2 wasn't much better

though it did hint of a future
That while better, it still wasn't amazing

I found a weapon that actually assists my clones as they are seen as Totems since they are stationary
I just need to level it up as my main staff is lvl 84 now I think... I am only lvl 67, it out paces me.

on most weapons, for mage anyway, the DPS total isn't really the highlight, its what the added text adds. Some of them can change how you play.

Finished Trial 1 today, not in a rush to do trial 2 yet

I almost have all the staffs you can find now, so I spent a few hours evolving some. Most of the empty spots in my weapon o dex are evolutions of staffs I already have

So the 1st version of legion gives you a nice little dagger that rotates around you. By the 5th it has changed a little

and becomes AOE that attacks things as soon as they appear on screen. I thought, how can this get better?

Tylers staff changed at 38, most evolve at 40 but the goldfish is lvl 58. Maybe I do it tomorrow and see what it becomes.

I am lvl 72ish. Game has beome difficult and I need to look at builds I guess.

I didn't think it take long to get Goldfish done... it was painful

I found something I wanted but didn't know existed... a helm that adds one more clone

latest weapon seems to make them fire in all directions at once. I don't think its normal.

Not many Lvl 65 characters are seen in lvl 27 gear unless its special

Unless game obliges and gives me a higher level version of this helm, I may never take it off
Four clones makes the entire game easier - He was struggling until I went looking for something with piercing to match another piece of gear. The staff wasn't obviously busted until evolved it twice - I didn't realise it was an evolving staff

Pretty sure this weapon is broken. 1st shot is always a 360 degree spray that kills most things on screen

Combine that with 4 clones and the only times I feel any stress is when bosses walk right through my clones.

Endless dungeon has stages, if you get to about 20 it rewards you if you beat a boss. It also lets you set up before starting so I had the 4 clones around me in a + pattern and nothing ever got close to me... until the boss who killed me... but I try again. You don't really lose anything but you also don't get the rewards. I wasn't ready last time as I had lost track of how many stages I had completed.

Secret to getting Primordial weapons... get one to 100

Yes, I know it says it lvl is 99, I can't explain that. The original version is in my previous post. It is maxed at 99 as well.

It has a cool green glow
It makes the game that I can access now too easy. Maybe I need to try harder wrath layers

Three activities in game:

1. Expeditions: random dungeons based on 4 environments
2. Slorm temple - clear floors as fast as possible to get rewards every 10 floors
3. The Forge - Endless dungeon but each floor has a challenge

1 & 4 have wrath levels, can choose from 1 to 10, I have to do a 100 floor forge run for a challenge. Not sure how long that will take, longest I have done is 30. Its hard to tell what stage I am on...
it gets borng as the enemies can't even touch me. I have more hazards from the environment.

lucky killing it isn't part of a trial.

Wrath 5 in an expedition is pretty easy, the weapon above makes it feel like a waste of time, so I tried 6 and it wasn't that much harder... so I decided to lvl up another staff, just not sure which one yet.

i see people beating it at level 250 which makes me wonder. I think character cap is 100 so must be a way to beat it... one other thought I had was my level was too low. Makes me wonder as the monsters leading up to it weren't hard, but I try it again when I am closer to 100. I was only 65

I don't think its a resistances thing as not run into anything immune to magic up until this point.

Its not essential for the story line to beat it at 100. Only need to do it at 50, but there are rewards for 100 and higher. Could be I need more reaper runes... might just be a hard test for what you have in the Forge part of game. I get bored in the forge, takes too long.

Need more info still. Played two weeks, still have basic questions

levelling up another weapon to 100 to have alternatives. Not the Legion one. Curious if it loses abilities at lvl 100 as well. The ability to hit everything 1st shot doesn't exist on the Primordial Drum of war, but it does more dps and in later difficulties getting everythings attention could have negative effects.

I have been trying to work out affinities.
In the forge you get drops that are tokens you can use for rep with the makers of each weapon. There are only about 7 makers so its not that bad to match the weapon you use up with the maker. The reason you do it is for discounts on the amount of time it takes to turn a normal weapon into a Primordial

Affinities also act as a way to add extra damage to the weapons without doing it directly.

The one I showed yesterday took 100 levels as I didn't have enough rep with the makers of it.
The one below only took 97 levels which was a suprise when it happened. But if I had looked at the affinities screen it shows I get a 3 lvl dicount and more tokens I find the less time it takes the remaining weapons made by Hagan.

The one on my left lives up to its flavor text. it fires all the different flavours of magic, randomly. Not all at once but you can easily have one clone casting fire and next one I summon will be ice

• I like the look of shadow. and it adds a fun "pet" that chews on enemies and wants me to attack faster.
• Fire uses too much mana, I had to update my regen on it to cope with the usage.
• Ice isn't bad except it makes it hard to see other things. It is ice after all.
• One seems to add shielding to the clones as it drops shield globes I can pick up for a temp shield while they are running

I have no control what the clones use next. I try to not use fire if I have a choice.

It will become Primordial at lvl 97 unless I do more forge runs. They not so bad.

The red text on the one of right doesn't bother me as I don't plan on using anything other than ranged.

I think I have all the staffs that you can get as drops apart from one the last boss drops. Missing ones might be rep purchases. I know where one of them is. Its been ages since one fell. Hence my suspicion.

I keep feeling like I have played this before. The way it tells you that you need more armour is to fill your world with archers. Now I just ignore them and only things that explode on death have me looking for them. Oh and a specific skeleton with a really big sword i keep my distance from... so yes, i have a memory of playing this before but I don't know when... unless it was 2 weeks ago when I started...

Go to fight a boss, all I find is this white rabbit

For the last 20 levels or so my Mage been looking for a replacement helmet. I had this sneaking feeling that relying on a lvl 27 helmet when you are lvl 87 wasn't a good idea. if only because its stats were nothing compared to what you can get - for instance, its evasion score of 258 is nice for lvl 27 but I can get 1500 now and its at the stage percentage gains earn more

So I was much relieved when this fell tonight, I been wanting a new helm and really didn't want to go back to 3 clones

Game had given me the same legendary helm 3 times tonight... I was just ignoring it.

No new staffs though a few are a work in progress. I just got bored as a lot of them don't change the game enough

Went back and tried that boss at 90. I can hurt it now but it heals back too fast... must need more damage still. Or look into details of my build as it is just meant for beginners and i may need to alter parts to actually kill this boss.

I don't have to kill it for the story but I want to do it as there are rewards for finishing every 10 level... or there are 4 more I don't have.

Did a few Forge runs but they are boring... i thought i did a long run today but it was only 25 waves. I need to do a run of 100 waves

Edit: watch video of a build and think about swapping. Find out I completely didn't understand how to allocate stones onto the Ancestral Ancestry screen and wasn't getting any of the benefits of the skills I was meant to have

I can get a full refund of all the currency used to choose skills and points. About 7 million all up. So a respec is easy in one way, but getting the gear I need to swap isn't. No rush, after changing ancestral legacy, he feels much better

They have a place called the fancy closet, I thought it was just to save an outfit... no, its to save the character build/equipment as is, so you can swap back if you don't like the changes. This game full of clever ideas.

Build I looked at needs a legendary cloak I don't have. I would have used it if I did as it adds to my current build as well. Its just luck what you find. I keep finding the same things. Add to collection.

So maybe I keep using the build I have until I am lucky enough to find it... if I do. Got a trophy for finding 100 legendaries yesterday, but thats over a few attempts as this not my 1st mage. They haven't all found the same things... though the staff order seemed similar for the first few, everything else is random. So I could play a long time without finding it.

Only 2.5% of players had that trophy so I don't know what odds are of it falling. So I just play until I get bored... or Sacred 2 is released... 14 days

I like levelling up more than end game, and this game is mostly end game. I don't like boss rushes, I don't need to be the hero, I just like the game style of making character the best I can. But too many need more end game than game now. I really don't like that trend...

One boss I have to fight in Trial 2 looks like a handfull. Saw him describes as mid game yesterday and here I was thinking this was end game. Last trial, the warlords... looks insane from my perspective.

Just not today as I was seeing double before, need sleep before I get character killed. Not that death means anything. Oh how different it is in that regard to Sacred 2.
