@Johnway @neogunhero I have been trying to play some multiplayer in Doom 1/2 after the enhanced version, but it does not seem to be many online for Deathmatch. When it first launched I could compete with tons of people, but just after a few months, it is down to very few. Am I doing something wrong when searching for public games or have people just stopped doing deathmatch on either game? Example: (ping is bad, but usually not)

When the major update came out in August, the game peaked at 2,668 players. Today’s 24hr peak was only 269, all according SteamCharts. It could very well be lack of players on the official servers.

Hey @Frindis , not sure if you are in the US, but it is 9:30pm central time here and I am seeing a good amount of lobbies online. Only problem is that they're all cooperative, not deathmatch. SteamCharts says 207 players online as of 1 minute ago, so yeah, most DOOM players are probably not playing on these dedicated servers or this particular version of the game.

I also noticed the Coop games, but would not think it was only 200'ish players. Sad because when it launched there were soooo many lobbies to choose from. I might have to do some Reddit digging to find out what servers people are playing on. Thanks for taking a peek at the charts.

Well I now know what I’ll be playing for some time to come. My last post was me regretting purchasing the newest Humble choice, I could have saved that money and been playing awesome WADs instead!! I’m definitely not as big into DOOM as you are, so I appreciate you letting us know when the Cacowards comes around because that just means a list of the best WADs for me to check out.

My pleasure. Personally i would also recommend the Doom Board Projects wads. They are fairly frequently released and have a specific theme. i usually add them to my backlog.

The latest one is caustic industry - industry and toxic waste rolled into one.
