So, I have a digital piano and decided to try some online piano lesson sites. I bought myself a cheap 1080p portable touch-screen monitor to connect to my laptop, so I can set the monitor right on the music stand and navigate the websites without a mouse. It works REALLY well. Much better than I expected it to.
Recently I wanted to rearrange my set up, move the piano to a different room next to my desktop. I ran into a few issues that so far has prevented me from being able to do this.
The first is that the cable that came with the portable monitor is dreadfully short. The second is that the cable is USB-C to USB-C and, unlike my laptop, my desktop doesn't have a USB-C port (it has all USB-A ports, most of them USB-3). The third is, well, a normal USB-C to USB-A adapter doesn't work. I know the cable needs a specific type of data capability that generic adapters likely don't have.
So, my current problem is trying to locate a replacement cable that will work that is USB-A to USB-C and is what is called, I believe, "full featured". They seem pretty darned impossible to find. Does anybody have a good source for finding such a cable?
