Notable Sales, Games (Ongoing)

It's very possible I've made a dozen similar threads in the past that non one used.

Yeah, you had one, but it was limited to just new lows. So, if Mad Max has gone on sale for $4 yet again, it wouldn't fit. This one is much more open.

Let's see, what's out there today...

The original Final Fantasy 7 on GOG for $4.79. Mods can turn the characters into something better graphically, but don't expect much in that department. Controls are some of the worst I've ever used. Despite both of those, the game is incredibly good thanks to the battle system, magic system, music, and easily one of the best stories of all time.

Saints Row: The Third was blasted on release because of the price you had to pay for somewhat better graphics. Some folks were having problems running it, too. Well, now the price is $3, so it's even cheaper than the original!

(Off topic, but how the Hades is the new Tomb Raider series already listed as a 'good old game'? Those started up just... 13 years ago!?!? Ouch. Well, they are all on sale on GOG if you want'm.)

If you're looking for something more modern, the new Kingdom Come game is half price:

Talos 2 is a really good puzzle game (though it could do with less running and a faster start):

Mechwarrior 5 is a fun, action-oriented take on mechs. There's still plenty of mech tinkering to do (especially if you download some mods), too. The game has gotten a LOT of DLC now, but it's all very optional.

Decent discount, so I bought it.

Thats a price I'd pick it up at.

Thing that's put me off so far is I heard its really designed around the co-op, and I'd much rather play it single player.

@Kaamos_Llama I tried it for 20 minutes or so, but it was just too linear for my taste. I did like Gears of War, so I can't say I am too picky, but yeah, it is what it is. I'm going to try out Warhammer 40,000: Boltun - Words Of Vengeance instead.

I dont mind linear as a rule but thanks for the feedback. Will have a think about it. I'm halfway through a few other things so not desperate to buy it, but single player AAA FPS or TPS are a bit thin on the ground these days and I like a bit of 40k.

This one took me by surprise. I thought it was just run-and-gun, but it's a boomer shooter typing game! I made it to the fourth boss before my fingers needed a break. Will try to finish, it's pretty kickass!🙂

Have you ever played the original Warhammer 40k Boltgun? It is, in fact, just a run and gun, but it's a very fun one. I've actually got a game going now.

@Kaamos_Llama if you aren't interested in the typing part, maybe try the original.

I'm just bringing this up to you all because I can't stand typing. I imagine there may be other opinions 🙂

Yea its a good shout, Ive played about 5 hours of Boltgun and I thought it was pretty good, just stopped playing it because something else came up but I mean to go back one day.

Definitely not the typing one, I'm both very slow and very inaccurate.

If you like management/tycoon games, this is one of the very best.

The devs are, imo, basically criminals

This one has been on my wish list for a mighty long time...

Anyone into boomer shooters Digiphile has a pretty tasty 7 games.

besides boltgun, the others i haven't got and i do want. The price? £15 (its £12/£13 but digiphile adds an additional tax fee). But on the other hand, its probably the best price to get these games at a knock down price. So its a good deal, but oddly i can't pay with paypal.

The ones out of that list that I know about seem to be very good. The only one I have is Boltgun. It's pretty cool that they give you credits for games you already own.

The credits is good in theory, but the execution is a bit horrible. if you check the exchange section you realize that they expect x3 of your credits to trade in a game. it would be in fact cheaper to buy them with cold hard cash. If they had a 1:1 swap i would absolutely agree.

oh and to top it off, your keys last 90 days. Don't activate them? you're out of luck. So plan ahead accordingly.
