My question is simple

I have an Acer Nitro laptop with R76800H and RTX 3070 ti, its got 1440P 165HZ 15"

if I connect it to a gaming monitor, (lets say a 1080P 144HZ gaming monitor)

Let's say, I'm testing Cyberpunk, here's my question

  • will it look bad (blurry or something) being downscaled when I adjust in game resolutions to 1080P on the monitor? (I don't care how it will look like on the laptop screen)
  • Do I need to make adjustments on the refresh rates? (because my laptop is 165 and the monitor is 144)
  • Should I use Duplicate or Extend? (my goal is to make the 1080P monitor look really good for gaming and recording gameplay)

If I understand what you are saying, all you need to do is go into Windows display settings and change your laptop to 1080p. Your laptop screen won't look great, but the monitor should be good. Refresh rates shouldn't be a problem, but if you have heat problems, you can can cap your FPS. If you are going to stream, you'll want extend because that will give you extra workspace. Don't need that? Use duplicate.
