I watched the ST:Section 31 movie on Paramount+ a couple days ago. It is a festering turd of a movie. You have been warned.

I mostly remember her from Cutthroat Island. I was fascinated with the videogame version

That was a mediocre movie. Gena's talent was wasted with poor direction. Didn't know there was a video game version (that was probably bad).

A quick movie i watched Flamin Hot (2023) a rags to riches story of Richard Montañez - who was a janitor of frito lays and invented the flamin' hot flavour.

not a bad movie and its entertaining. Good performances, No idea how faithful the movie was to the autobiography. But that said the movie didn't really stir my emotions or elicit any feelings. So i guess maybe 6/10. Would i recommend a watch? again, a meh not a bad movie, but i wouldn't openingly sing its praises or recommend it.

Lately, I’ve been watching "The Killer" on Netflix. It’s a slow-burn thriller directed by David Fincher The pacing might feel slow for some, but I loved the tension and how methodical everything felt.

Also checked out "Oppenheimer" on Amazon Prime—finally got around to watching it after all the hype. It’s intense, beautifully shot, and Cillian Murphy absolutely nailed his role.

Got some new movies over the holidays: Daniel Craig's James Bond movies and the three Austin Powers movies. First I watch a James Bond movie, then an Austin Powers movie, then a James Bond movie, and so on. It's good for... ummm.... well, it's bound to be good for something. I'll let you know.

I watched Nosferatu yesterday. I liked the art direction but overall didn't really enjoy the film. It was like watching 2 hours of complete insanity.

Still slowly progressing through Indiana Jones and the Great Circle inspired me to buy all the Indiana Jones movies on Amazon. When I'll get around to actually watching them, who knows? I've see 1-3 dozens of time, 4 only twice, and I have yet to see Dial of Destiny.

Watched the Man From Earth (2007) directed by Richard Schenkman, starring actors like Tony Todd and Richard Riehle.

Very interesting movie about the possibility of one of the people in the movie being 14.000 years old and him talking about what he knew and knows. I rate it 8/10.

I watched John Wick 2 yesterday. The titular John Wick is a man of few words and the movie gives you the bare minimum of exposition to give context to the frankly ridiculous action sequences, yet it still manages to do some interesting world building.

Watched the Man From Earth (2007) directed by Richard Schenkman, starring actors like Tony Todd and Richard Riehle.

RIP Tony Todd. He was the visual model and voice for one of the characters in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

I watched Deep Cover (1992) directed by Bill Duke. I did not know he directed movies. I know him best from his role as Mac in Predator.

The movie starring Laurence Fishburne as Russell Steven JR. an undercover agent, and Jeff Goldblum as the shady lawyer drug dealer David Jason. Jeff Goldblum is acting exactly as you would think but in the shoes of a criminal. Laurence Fishburne is what surprised me about the movie. He plays his role as an undercover agent really good and gives it a lot of pulse and even rhymes at times. There are moments in the movie that feel slightly feverish, and claustrophobic while playing with lighting effects, perhaps why it is looked at as a sort of neo-noir.

While not all the acting is equally impressive, there are scenes that throw punches and for the most part, they come from Fishburne himself. It's a movie that wants to say something about drugs and the power it gives over a person or a group of people and I think it does it quite well. Fishburne does a masterful job of being undercover while getting more and more deeper into something he does not know the scope of.

Overall, this is a tough/gritty, pulsating, and cool/cold movie and I give it an 8/10.

I recently visited Dental Implants in Sault Ste Marie, ON with my two children, so I will tell you in detail. This clinic really takes special care of children. First of all, I want to note that the professionals working here know how to not only diagnose and treat teeth, but also how to properly establish contact with children, which is important when it comes to pediatric dentistry. My children, to be honest, were always afraid of dentists, and every visit was a real stress for them. But at CambrianDental, everything turned out to be different. The doctors have experience working with small patients, and this is evident at first glance.

Overall, this is a tough/gritty, pulsating, and cool/cold movie and I give it an 8/10.

Many people didn't appreciate his vision of cinema, unfortunately, I think he would have had a good career

Well on New Year's Day I watched Rat Race, the 2001 film. For better or for worse they certainly don't make movies like these anymore...
I enjoyed it, for nostalgia's sake, at least!

Recently started playing Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and I realized I haven't seen the movie Avatar since it came out, so I watched it last night. I had forgotten just how visually stunning that movie is and how ahead of its time it was. Having a big 4K tv certainly helped me get a great experience with it. Again, the 10' tall, half-naked blue alien women had nothing to do with it.

Seeing as I have yet to see Way of the Water I'll probably watch that tonight or tomorrow night.

Another movie watched, this time its The banshees of Inisherin a tragicomedy set in the 1920s on a remote irish villiage off ireland where one day Pádraic Súilleabháin (Colin Farrell) best friend Colm Doherty (Brendan Gleeson) decides that he doesn't want to speak to him any more or be his frined.

Padraic is confused and hurt as he hasn't done nothing wrong to Colm. Pedraic attempts to get to the bottom of Colms change of heart and attempts to amends but it just pisses off Colm even further. Things get so bad that Colm would rather kill himself rather then be Pedraic's friend and threatens to cut his fingers first and eventually his limbs if Pedraic leaves him alone. From there things just escalate as Colm makes good with his promises but also Padriac's life starts to collapse as he becomes increasingly lonely, jealous and irratated by Colms actions.

Honestly i didn't find it really funny. its one of those artistic movies that i just didn't get. So its probably just me. Would i recommend it? probably not, but its probably because i;m a philistine and when it comes to movies my tastes aren't that good.

So another movie i've watched, this time its Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part one The story revolves an artificial intelligence that has turned sentient known only as the entity. The Ai is capable of infiltrating into all things digital including top secret areas and thus has a lot of knowledge, on the world, governments and military capabilities. in short it is a highly prized asset and everyone wants their hands on it.

All attempts to stop or rein in the entity have thus far have failed, but rumors are abound that the entity can be controlled with a very special key formed in 2 parts. As all the major powers scramble to find this key, Ethan Hunt is called in by IMF to find it. the odds are stacked heavily again Ethan as he is pretty much pitted against not only against the world, but also his past when the entity enters the fray using "Gabriel" as his man on the ground to retrieve the keys.

An excellent movie imo. certainly one of my top 3 MI movies along with the original and mission:impossible fallout. it has an excellent blend of action, espionage and also humor. Look forward to the second part.

That reminds me a bit of the movie Eagle Eye (2008).
