@Pifanjr I'm curious about Thunderbolts because I watched the trailer, and the Russian accent of Alexei Shostakov by David Harbour was so atrocious it made me not want to watch the movie. So I guess my question is: Was I wrong? Final release better?
Gotcha, I'll give it a go tomorrow and see how it isI didn't really have a problem with it. I think it helps that his character is an idiot and mostly exists as comic relief, it would probably be much more unbearable if he was a serious character.
I watched Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts*, both from Marvel. The former is fairly forgettable, but the latter was pretty good. Still a pretty formulaic Marvel movie, but at least an enjoyable one.
Honestly though, I'm mostly keeping up with Marvel just because I've already seen so much of it. It's a bit of a sunk cost fallacy, but I'm hoping it'll eventually pay off.
Agreed, we're at the stage where marvel's standards are slipping backwards. you can sort of smell the desperate commercialism of the movies now. There have been more duffers then winners. Not seen any of the recent stuff, so who knows it might be good or satisfying. i mean i liked doctor strange in the multiverse of madness and would love to see a 3rd movie, but i hear from die hard fans of the character it was pretty weak.
But i think disney in general are in a bit of trouble in general as nothing seems to be sticking properly. Remaking classics with realism isn't exactly working out and old winners from Pixar aren't hitting the spot either.
