After doing way too much research on them, I am at a total stand still on what new monitor I should get for my 3080. I am stuck between QHD and 4K for several reasons. Each "best of" site seems to leave out certain brands or says "must be 4k" then only has 1440 as their recommendations. I am hoping some of you have the experience to help me decide.

I am into AAA gaming, never console. I have the MSI RTX3080 Gaming Z Trio. My price range is $600 +-

From my research, I have the following models as my top four but PLEASE let me know if there's another/better option: (in no order):

I like the size and curve of the G7 but its not 4K, made in 2020 and not HDMI 2.1. The UltraGear doesn't have 2.1 either. Is 4K worth it over WQHD? Is not having 2.1 a big deal? What would you choose or do you have a better selection?

i would get the lg of the 4 you showed.

You not likely to get a 4k image that runs at the speed of those monitors out of a 3080, better to aim at 2k as refresh rate is slightly more likely.

HDMI 2.1 isn't really necessary, its just new. No GPU can run at the max speed it supports. The 40 series cards don't have 2.1 yet. Its only on 2 GPU right now, 7900 XT/XTX

windows will still run them at 2k anyway, it defaults a 4k monitor to 150% scaling on desktop. I had one 7 years ago and swapped back to 2k as why fight windows desktop. I got a 4k monitor for a Bday and it took 5 years before I got a GPU that can run it at 60 in 4k. Its not so bad now, but that was annoying

Maybe I started too small but that screensize is too big for me

I think 1st lcd screen I had was a Samsung Syncmaster 172x (I think, it was a long time ago,it looks familiar) - https://www.pcstats.com/articles/1033/index.html
17 inches 1080p 12ms refresh rate
Current screen is 32inches 1440p 1ms refresh rate

its taken me almost 20 years to gain so little extra space.
I may need a 49 inch monitor to read it in 20 years time
