Upon further investigation, apparently Petabyte in English is pronounced with a soft (grave) E, or "eh" sound. In German however it's pronounced with a hard (acute) E, or "ee" sound.

So then if they DID open a PitaByte restaurant in Silicon Valley, would it only attract German customers? I'm imagining all the English speaking people just passing by and saying, "whaaat"?

My internet seems to have been upgraded for free over the past few weeks. I've been getting bombarded with texts from my ISP saying I have an outage, outage restored, over and over and over again... I guess that's what they were doing. Previous max was around 350mbps, so basically went from about 45MB/s to 65MB/s. Sweet!

EDIT: Turns out my ISP is "testing gig" in my area. We've had it for a while, so unless she means replacing all lines with fiber, then I'm not sure what she means exactly. Trying to hit her with the "I enjoy the increase in speed but a rival ISP has gig for cheaper.. may just switch to them instead..." hoping to get a good deal lol. That worked for me when I complained about my new user discount going away, it got extended for another year.

Log into your and checker when your contract is due for renewal as some isp dont tell you.
If you dont them you want to stay with them they will put you on out of contract prices that are very expensive.

I have lost my original new member discount, but besides that I have not seen my monthly bill go up at all. I looked at their website, and they no longer offer the slowest tier, it has since been replaced with a slightly faster one. So they may just be re-configuring their pricing tiers and placing me into a faster one since I'm being grandfathered in... so long as I don't have to pay the extra cost then I'm happy.

I went from BT to EE, ditched both a landline phone service and went from 30 mb to 150mb FTTP. They had to run a new line into the property but the installation was free.

Even just switching broadband saved money and EE is owned by BT. My previous broadband was pretty fast but just going to 150mb was a huge increase.
