Question Durable Motherborad with frequents BIOs Updates?

Hello all,
I have realized the gaming boards are for just 3 to 5 years because of lack of updates. For example: I have a Z97-A/USB 3.1 that comes with M.2 port with latest functional update. I tried installing the Samsung 980 PRO NVMe and sadly noticed in order to make it discoverable I had to disable PCI Express slots and put them in M.2 Mode on Onboard Devices Configuration in the BIOs. I cannot do that because I have a WiFi antenna using one of those slots. If I buy a new board I also have to buy everything else. I am trying to avoid that in the future. Any ideas? Not sure if I will have to order a tower server and install Windows on it...

Thanks in advance.
