it wont let me update my bios anyone can help?
i did everything per instructions tried following number of guides tried inserting the usb to 3 diffrent ports (3,2,BIOS) i even tried older versions and its always the same:
i go the Mflash i see the file click it and no confimartion msg pops up i also tried using the bios button nothing worked.
here some details :
am experiencing an issue with my MSI Z790-A PRO WIFI motherboard. My current BIOS version is E7E07IMS.M40.

Problem:

M-Flash refuses to confirm any BIOS file, including the newest official version and slightly older versions.

BIOS Flashback with a properly prepared USB stick also fails — the LED either does not flash or never completes the update.

I have tried a USB stick (32GB, FAT32) and confirmed that the BIOS files are correct for the Z790-A PRO WIFI model.

I have also loaded optimized defaults.

side note: i have my 32gb ram card in the wrong slot(A instead of B) because my cpu fan is too big for me to fit it on B. could that be the cause?

My current rig is 9 years old and i have never updated my bios and the reason i have never done it is because on Toms Hardware Forum a lot of people say you dont need to unless you are experiencing some sort of problem with the answer being update the bios.

Do you have some sort of problem that makes you think it needs updating.

That was the case a long time ago and the idea has got stuck. Theres little to no danger involved in BIOS updates as long as you follow the manual and dont lose power while one is in progress nowadays, and newer BIOS can help with performance and there are also often security updates that are important to have.

@fdsdsfsdf I'm afraid I dont have any experience with MSI M.Flash. If you dont get any answers here you could try over at Toms Hardware, there are a lot more technical people over there so you'll get more eyes on the problem,

Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model.

MSI Z790-A PRO WIFI motherboard. My current BIOS version is E7E07IMS.M40.
Are you sure you got the motherboard's make and model right? I ask since I don't see;
that BIOS version listed anywhere. Flashing the wrong BIOS file onto a board it's not meant for, can result in a bricked board.

Category-E unit, belongs in a dumpster, even if it's brand new.

Motherboard:MSI pro z790 a max wifi
Okay, now I see it! This is why we ask for details instead of generic info. Try and first make sure you're on the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard. Then use this guide;

different board but the principle remains the same. Use BIOS version 7E07vM9 to flash the BIOS.
