Asus armoury crate gear

I’m having troubles with asus armoury crate gear. It does install but at the end when I click to open it, it doesn’t opens and stay idle. Currently I can’t use the lights on my keyboard. The keyboard is ROG Strix Scope ll 96 wireless if anyone can help please lemme know

Currently I can’t use the lights on my keyboard.

unless its changed Gear doesn't have Asus Aura sync but it does mention lighting of some sort

Compared to Armoury Crate (ROG exclusive cross-device software platform), Armoury Crate Gear offers a more intuitive user experience, and it's also more focused on the device configuration settings:

- Armoury Crate Gear: Key assignment, lighting (No Aura Sync), performance (for mouse).
- Armoury Crate: Aura Sync, firmware update, macro, scenario profiles, content download, and all functions of Armoury Crate Gear.

I hate those applications like armoury crate and the Gigabyte command centre that insist on being the only way you can use their hardware. It restricts what I can do, and forces you to use buggy software just to use the hardware.
I wouldn't care if the software was up to scratch.

I don't know if you could install Armory crate, set the ARGB colours you want and then just remove armory crate. That would be what I would try.
Asus... why split some functions off armoury crate but not the macro functions? You didn't make it better, you just doubled number of programs needed to run one keyboard.

Do you want drivers or just lighting. If you just want lighting you can try

You shouldn't need a technician to get a keyboard lighting to work... or even software. Realistically it should all be adjustable using the keyboard. My current keyboard lets me change all mine via function key combinations

How much was this keyboard anyway? Asus integrating custom keyboard features into a platform that is locked down. Sounds about right... why can't they just all agree to use the same system for things.

You should be okay with a Logitech keyboard. I had one 10 years ago. They only make peripherals so don't try to take over your PC.

Their hardware is okay, I had 5 Asus motherboards in a row until I swapped on my last two PC.
Armoury Crate is enough to stop me buying that hardware. I had thought them releasing Gear would mean you didn't need AC anymore... but researching this shows they failed in that too, as you still need to infest your PC with AC to change any macros.

Razer has the same problem, I refuse to use their hardware until I know Synapse is better. One year I might risk buying them again to find out.

It was said elsewhere, stop buying gaming keyboards from the usual suspects... look outside the box.
