Hello my Pc is now 5 years old and seems to have a failing video card. Googling the symptoms leads me into that thinking. It full freezes (no blue screen) it blacks out and flashes causing games to crash but the pc doesn’t crash and more. I was running 4 monitors on it which caused the system to fail every 20-50min till I pulled 3 monitors. Now it crashes mostly when I’m in graphic intense games with the one monitor. I think all I need is to upgrade the card but if I can get a couple more years for a few hundred I don’t mind upgrading other parts.

What I do with my Pc: I play star citizen, 7 clients of eve online, and will be getting cyberpunk 2077. I must be able to have 3 monitors hooked up to display ports, 4 preferably. I use 1 monitor for videos, 1 for games, 1for info. Eve I use all 4.

fyi here are the specs, that should help you assess your needs:

Full marks to your 960 for lasting this long with that load on it. What resolutions do you drive the 4 monitors at?

Pending an expert chiming in, my guess is it's not worth upgrading much beyond the graphics card, if even that—it's an old system and I would expect there to be bottlenecks in the motherboard and buses. It's important to have the 5 major components fairly balanced so one or two don't throttle the overall performance.

1920 x1080 screen resolution, I did get a great run from this pc. Okay I’ll look into getting a cheap graphics card just till these crazy prices drop and build my next pc.
