Warzone Graphics Settings

Hi -

I’m brand new to pc gaming, I’ve been on console for as long as I can remember. I just bought a gaming laptop because I travel every week for work, but I can’t seem to find the right settings for COD Warzone (textures seem off, frequent screen tearing etc.). I’m hoping somebody can walk me through the optimal settings for my setup (see below). As an example, my laptop screen is 1080p 120Hz but my monitor is 1440p and 165Hz, however in the Warzone settings I don’t get the option for >60 frame rate. And if I set the resolution to 1080p it looks awful, but 1440p looks overly “sharp” and glitchy. Again, I’m completely new to PC so I apologize if anything isn’t making sense.

Monitor - Dell Gaming Monitor S2417DG YNY1D 24-Inch Screen LED-Lit TN with G-Sync, QHD 2560x1440, 165Hz Refresh Rate, 1ms response time, 16:9 aspect ratio

Laptop - Asus ROG Zephyrus G14:

How is the monitor connected to the laptop? Is gsync for that monitor enabled in Nvidia Control Panel?

Connected via HDMI. I don’t think I’ve enabled G-sync.

You won't have since it's only over DP afaik - connect the monitor via DP.

Also the monitor will probably only have HDMI 1.4 which doesn't have the bandwidth for 1440p 144hz/165hz. So you need to use DP on that score too.
Edit 2: HDMI 1.4 confirmed.

Edit: If it doesn't have a DP output, you may need to use a USB C to DP cable - it seems to have one USB C port capable of DP:

Ok, I have the USB-C DP adaptor, so if I use that and turn on G-sync it should solve some of the display issues?

It should certainly solve the tearing and the 60hz max refresh rate. And if we're lucky the rest too.

I had to step out but I will update once I attempt. My only question is I don’t believe the laptop supports g-sync? The monitor does, but I don’t think the laptop does. Will this matter? I believe the laptop supports vsync but the monitor does not.

The laptop's own screen apparently doesn't but the graphics card does, so I'd expect it to work with an external monitor.
