Since switching to Viafoura in February half the time I come onto PCGamer the comments section is completely broken because Viafoura CDN is down.
Between comments being turned off and Viafoura barely working, I have started using other news websites.
Please undo this change so we can actually comment on articles again.
Thanks for taking the time to share this feedback and I’m really sorry for the frustration you’ve been dealing with. We know how important the comments section is to our community, and interruptions to that experience are absolutely not what we want for anyone. That said, we actively monitor all of our systems including Viafoura and so far it has maintained:
- API: 99.54 % uptime over the past 90 days.
- Management Portal / Automated Moderation: 99.64 % uptime.
- Analytics Dashboards / Engagement Tools: 99.64 % uptime.
- User-facing Notifications: 99.64 % uptime.
For anyone experiencing problems accessing comments, here are a few quick troubleshooting steps that can help determine whether the issue is local or part of a wider outage:
- Refresh the page fully (Ctrl+F5 / Cmd+Shift+R) to clear any temporary caching issues.
- Disable browser extensions like ad blockers, privacy filters, or script blockers, which can sometimes interfere with Viafoura’s scripts.
- Try a different browser or device to see if the issue is isolated.
- Clear your browser cache/cookies related to PC Gamer or Viafoura.
- Check the Viafoura status page (https://www.viafoura-status.com/)
- If you’re using a VPN, try temporarily disabling it as some nodes can block or slow CDN connections.
If you're still having trouble after trying the above, please feel free to let us know at Commentmoderation @ futurenet.com. Details like browser, device, region, or a screenshot help us escalate the issue more quickly.
