Viafoura are awful

Since switching to Viafoura in February half the time I come onto PCGamer the comments section is completely broken because Viafoura CDN is down.

Between comments being turned off and Viafoura barely working, I have started using other news websites.

That said, we actively monitor all of our systems including Viafoura and so far it has maintained:
  • API: 99.54 % uptime over the past 90 days.
  • Management Portal / Automated Moderation: 99.64 % uptime.
  • Analytics Dashboards / Engagement Tools: 99.64 % uptime.
  • User-facing Notifications: 99.64 % uptime.
For anyone experiencing problems accessing comments, here are a few quick troubleshooting steps that can help determine whether the issue is local or part of a wider outage:
  • Refresh the page fully (Ctrl+F5 / Cmd+Shift+R) to clear any temporary caching issues.
  • Disable browser extensions like ad blockers, privacy filters, or script blockers, which can sometimes interfere with Viafoura’s scripts.
  • Try a different browser or device to see if the issue is isolated.
  • Clear your browser cache/cookies related to PC Gamer or Viafoura.
  • Check the Viafoura status page (https://www.viafoura-status.com/)
  • If you’re using a VPN, try temporarily disabling it as some nodes can block or slow CDN connections.
